Jee Sees Rise in Pigging and Plugging Projetcs

Jee Ltd. said its pigging and plugging division has had 11 new projects awarded by six different clients across Europe, Africa and South East Asia in Q1 of 2017. The new projects, nine of which relate to pigging and two to plugging projects, are being delivered alongside eight contracts continuing from 2016.   Sitting within Jee’s core engineering capabilities, the new 2017 scopes cover the full asset lifecycle from new projects to decommissioning pigging scopes and range from: Feasibility and concept studies for “unpiggable” or challenging pipelines and plugging

Funding for Jee’s Excalibur system

Jee Ltd awarded £75k funding by Innovate UK for conceptual design of tidal array cable solution, ‘Excalibur’ Technologies which harness tidal energy (i.e. tidal energy convertors or TECs) are in the advanced stages of development. Single TECs have been tested in UK waters for some time but only recently has a fully commercial, grid-connected array been installed. Despite the rapid progress the tidal sector is relatively immature and the greatest challenge is to find a cost-effective method to deploy these technologies at a large scale. Only then will these projects become commercial

Jee Wins Array Cable Optimization Study Contract

Subsea engineering and training company Jee Ltd. informs it has been awarded a contract by Scottish Power Renewables to carry out an array cable layout optimization study for the East Anglia ONE (EAONE) offshore wind farm.   EAONE is a development planned off the coast of East Anglia for 102 turbines; enough to power more than 50,000 homes every year, as quoted by Scottish Power Renewables.    Scottish Power Renewables has contracted Jee to optimize the wind farm array cable layout, focusing on minimizing CAPEX and OPEX. The study will aim to minimize potential loss of revenue

Jee Evaluates Array Cable Risk in UK

Jee Ltd, a subsea cable specialist engineering company, has completed a project for a wind farm operator to assess the risks to the array cables within a UK offshore wind farm. With concerns about the integrity of cables on the wind farm, the operator awarded Jee a contract in March 2016 to compile a risk framework to be used as a basis for a risk based inspection (RBI) plan. As part of the study, Jee determined and ranked the risks to the array cables and provided guidance on the acceptability of each risk. Cable spans along the seabed and spans at the monopile bases due to scour were a particula

Jee’s Span Assessment Expertise Delivers Savings

Jee Ltd, a multi-disciple subsea engineering and training firm, announced it has completed more than 1,000 specialist span assessments already this year, delivering cost-savings by avoiding remediation work. Graham Wilson, Head of Late Life at Jee Limited, said, “Pipeline spans are formed due to an uneven seabed, scour or sandwaves, and can cause integrity issues with potential catastrophic and costly results. These spans can be susceptible to failure through fatigue and, as span length increases, the risk of fatigue damage due to direct wave loading or vortex-induced vibrations (VIV) also
