methods. FWI provided a fast-track velocity model that facilitated a superior migration for depth imaging just weeks after delivery of the OBN data.Sophie Zurquiyah, CEO, CGG, said, “CGG has demonstrated again that it is the provider of choice in OBN imaging around the world, particularly for subsalt imaging in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. With our advanced technology and close collaboration with imaging and interpretation geophysicists from our clients, CGG continues to improve image quality and reduce cycle time for all imaging projects.&rdquo

CGG Completes Perdido Subsalt Survey for Pemex

of schedule an 11,500 sq km wide-azimuth (WAZ) survey on behalf of Pemex in the deepwater Perdido area. This new survey has been acquired perpendicularly to existing WAZ data and the combined Imaging of this first large-scale orthogonal WAZ data set is expected to provide significantly enhanced subsalt imaging results. A fast-track TTI RTM image for the first block of approximately 5,200 sq. km was delivered earlier than planned, helping to guide the client’s drilling operations. This landmark survey also saw the first deployment of Sercel’s QuietSea next-generation Passive Acoustic

survey in the southern Gulf of Mexico. “The great potential of the area and complexity of the geology in the Campeche basin requires high-quality wide-azimuth acquisition to image the subsalt effectively. We will leverage our extensive U.S. Gulf of Mexico experience to deliver enhanced subsalt imaging and additional exploration solutions to our clients.“ said Maurice Nessim, president, WesternGeco, Schlumberger.   “PETRONAS is looking for high-quality global growth opportunities and we plan to use the best available technology to focus our search for these opportunities

CGG Launches Shallow Reservoir Imaging Solution

seeing how this solution will open the door to a better understanding of shallow reservoirs to help oil and gas companies extract the full potential of these highly prospective fields in the Barents Sea and beyond. As we have seen with StagSeis, the full-azimuth solution that we purpose-designed for subsalt imaging in the Gulf of Mexico, these made-to-measure approaches can prove very successful and reap dividends for the industry as a whole.”

waters of the Gulf of Mexico,” said Maurice Nessim, president, WesternGeco. “The complexity of the geology in the Campeche requires wide-azimuth acquisition to image the subsalt effectively, and we are bringing all of our experience gained in the US Gulf of Mexico to deliver enhanced subsalt imaging to our clients.” A fleet of eight vessels is conducting the survey in the Bay of Campeche for the three-year project. The project follows the Mexican government opening licensing rounds to non-government companies for the first time
