Jan de Nul Completes Umbilical Installation Offshore Egypt
in May 2018 and transported to Egypt. The installation campaign started with a 3-km beach pull for which the Willem de Vlamingh positioned in water depths of 7 m. Water depths significantly increased along the route. The campaign was finalized early August 2018 with the installation of the Umbilical Termination Assembly at 600 meters water depth.Installation and burial were performed in parallel to safeguard the critical main umbilical. Willem de Vlamingh installed the umbilical onto the seabed, directly followed by Isaac Newton for simultaneous burying of the umbilical using the jet trenching method
Viper Subsea Unveils Updated V-LOCK Stab Plate
. The new model is designed such that all the coupler float requirements are built into the flying half of the stab plate, with couplers rigidly mounted within the fixed half of the stab plate. This mitigates assembly risk for the small-bore tubing installation on the Tree and Umbilical Termination Assembly (UTA). The need for long lengths of hydraulic tubing behind the fixed plate couplings to maintain coupler compliance is no longer required. Removing the need for fixed plate coupling compliance reduces the size of the UTA structure which thus facilitates compliance with the Umbilical
Subsea Processing Boosting and Gas Compression
. Penetrators must also be able to withstand the high temperatures generated by the modules (up to 90°C) or the hydrocarbons, which may be up to 200°C. A Typical Interconnection System Figure 3 shows a typical power-cabling system. An umbilical cable is terminated to a SUTA (subsea umbilical termination assembly), which is roughly equivalent to the wall socket in your home. From the SUTA, electrical flying leads (EFLs) bring power to the pump or other modules. To continue the home analogy, EFLs are like extension cords. A secondary jumper harness ensures connection from the EFL to the penetrator
