CGG Plans to Delist from the NYSE

CGG S.A., an geoscience company providing geological, geophysical and reservoir capabilities, said that the Board of Directors has unanimously approved the voluntary delisting of its American Depositary Shares from the New York Stock Exchange and its voluntary deregistration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.According to a press release on the matter, CGG said that the costs associated with continuing the listing and registration of its ADSs exceed the benefits received by CGG, as the primary market for CGG shares is Euronext Paris.Following delisting of the ADSs from the NYSE

FMC Technologies to Pay $2.5 Mln for Overstating Profits

Energy technology company FMC Technologies Inc will pay a $2.5 million penalty to settle charges that it overstated profits in one of its business segments, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said on Thursday.   Two now former executives made the improper adjustments after being pressured to improve the financial performance of the Houston-based company's energy infrastructure department, the SEC said.   FMC Technologies and the two executives consented to the SEC's order without admitting or denying the findings, the agency said.   A spokesman for FMC and lawyers for the

Groups Seek US SEC Probe of Shell Arctic Drilling Risk Disclosures

An environmental group and a law clinic petitioned the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether Royal Dutch Shell has adequately disclosed to investors the risks of oil exploration in the harsh Arctic waters, the groups said on Tuesday.   The U.S. Interior Department is mulling whether Shell can drill test wells for crude and gas off Alaska this summer.
