Associated Underwater Services Hires Eakin

Michael J. Eakin has joined the Associated Underwater Service’s (AUS) management team as a Senior Estimator and Director of Business Development.   Working out of the Seattle office, Eakin will oversee customer relations, product line development, sales and marketing nationwide. He will also provide estimating services for Western Washington as well as the West Coast.   Eakin brings over 25 years of experience to an already experienced staff of marine and underwater constructors.

Buoy Controller System Delivers Live Data

University of Washington recently deployed a new oceanographic observing buoy featuring Soundnine Inc.’s DANTE System.    The new buoy was deployed February 11, 2016 in Bellingham Bay (Puget Sound) in collaboration with The Center for Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction, UW, Western Washington University and Northwest Indian College.    The DANTE controller collects data from a suite of meteorological and oceanographic instruments. Two sensors are 60 feet underwater and use S9’s Ulti-modem inductive modem to communicate with the controller on the surface. The system
