Phoenix Conducts ROV Search for MH370
Phoenix International Holdings, Inc., under the direction of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), is conducting deepwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations in the continuing search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370). Phoenix mobilized its 6,000 meter depth-rated Remora III ROV aboard the Chinese Rescue Salvage Bureau (RSB) vessel Dong Hai Jiu 101 in support of the ongoing deep ocean search.

New ROTV System to Aid German Naval Research
WehrTechnische Dienststelle (WTD 71), developer of new underwater technologies for the German navy, has acquired a MacArtney FOCUS 2 ROTV system representing a stable and flexible instrumentation platform as the basic tool for its development efforts. With the purpose of testing SAS sonar technologies for mine detection, a full scale on-site demo of a Raytheon ProSAS installed on a FOCUS 2 ROTV system was organized for WTD 71.

MTR 100: SL Hydrospheric
SL Hydrospheric, LLC is made up of eight members, all hailing from the deep ocean search and survey industry. In 2009 it formed the company to combine its deep tow sonar expertise with the newly available ProSAS suite by Applied Signal Technologies (now Raytheon). The result is the SLH PS-60 vehicle, capable of 6000 meter depth and a two km swath at 10 cm resolution. It has performed sonar searches and surveys in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Nigeria.
MSI Delivering SAS Components for Raytheon’s Surveyor Solutions
MSI is now producing two new Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) components for two systems of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems’ PROSAS suite of sonar solutions. Raytheon’s PROSAS Surveyor family of synthetic aperture sonar systems provides high‐definition sonar capabilities for a wide range of applications. The PROSAS Surveyor 60 (PS60) and PROSAS Surveyor 175 (PS175) systems collect simultaneous side scan, SAS data and operate at 6,000 meter depth.
