Finalizing specifications and carrying out installation / acceptance tests for new equipment
Liaising with Operations dept. for day-to-day equipment availability for PM & schedule /breakdown maintenance jobs
Handling maintenance of:
STP Plant / Oily Water Separator, Disposal of Waste Oil to Authorized Vendors approved by CPCB / MPCB and stack emission tests on engines as per the standards set by CPCB
Internal roads on Wharf & Yards, Bollards / Fenders 
Handling with OEMs regarding warranty issues and defect lists of equipment
Facilitating the adherence to NSICT Health, Safety & Environment policy and procedures 
Carrying out review of maximum and minimum level of spares in store as per consumption, failure rate and lead-time.
Monitoring the inventory levels to a justifiable level to run the equipment trouble-free
Coordinating with local workshops for modifications, indigenisation & repair of equipment
Interacting with Dock Safety Representative for annual & five yearly inspections and performing load testing of all container handling equipment and certification of the same 
Looking after maintenance activities of High Speed Ferry Boats (2 nos.) 
Overseeing power distribution to STS / RMG Cranes & Reefer Containers and providing adequate lighting in the terminal

Highlight:
Holds the distinction of developing an in-house oil testing system for monitoring Engine lube oil condition after which the oil changing interval was increased from 350 to 700 hours; Hydraulic Oil filteration and reuse for 2 to 3 intervals instead of being changed yearly and thrown away
Initiated savings of 10 Lacs INR by reusing the oil. 
Acknowledged for implementing safety standards and managing activities for making 6-7 work platforms for jobs involving working at heights to safe guard employees at risky & slippery areas located at heights.

Coordinated with clients / statutory bodies for fulfillment of various standards of safety & operations
Ensured implementation of ISM for vessels working at Sikka & Vadinar base

Jan’1983 - Jun’2001 /Jan’2014- Jun’2015 Worked on merchant vessels tramping worldwide ( bulk carriers, reefer vessels, container vessels) as Marine Engineer on various ranks (Joined as 5/E and rose to the position of C/E), with hands on working experience on Ship’s machinery and working with crew from varied nationalities.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management with Operations as specialization from AIMA, New Delhi. ( 2003 – 2004)
Marine Engineering training from BPT workshops ( 1976 – 1980)
Basic Education in 11 + 2 system from St. Sebastian Goan High school & St. Xavier’s College Mumbai.

Additional Qualification:
M.O.T.- 1ST CLASS (Motor) from Mercantile Marine department Govt. of India in Oct’2000.Revalidated up to 26/09/2018. All courses completed up to date in accordance with the  provisions of the 2010 Manila amendments to the STCW convention 1978.
