Engineer

Engineer  / Naval Architect
Description

Currently I am doing my Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering Diesel Fitter at Australia Pacific Technical College and this course has broaden my knowledge in tuning of diesel engine, its systems and the maintenance and repair of mechanical system. Additionally I hold a Trade Diploma in Marine engineering from Fiji Maritime Academy and a Class 4 Certificate of Competency Marine Engineer from Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji.

I have over five years of experience in the marine and mechanical engineering field. I have served as a Chief Engineer on the vessels Pacific Endeavor and Scorpion 69 since September 2016 to January 2017. As a Chief Engineer, my major role is to ensure the safe running of all the machineries in the vessel and assure that the vessel is working in a safe manner throughout the voyage. I also have served as a Second Engineer on vessels Captain Van and Forika 3 at Fiji Fish since August 2015 to February 2016. My major role as a 2 Engineer is to maintain all machineries are serviced at correct intervals and notify the Chief Engineer if there’s any abnormality of any machineries of that would be unsafe to the vessel. I had also served as a cadet engineer at Solander Pacific since August 2010 to August 2015 trained and disciplined by Engineers in the mechanical field. Starting with systems of the vessels, down the system of the engine, hydraulics and finally into electrical system.

I am a good team player as well as the ability to work flexible hours. While I was working for Solander Pacific as a cadet, we are mostly given task to assist trades man and at times when the vessel are scheduled to leave, we work as a team in flexible hours to accomplish the task in order to meet the company’s demand. I also have good communication skills and the ability to multi task. Also when I was at Solander Pacific, communication was very important since different department rely on each other for a task to be completed and being able to multi task is something we marine engineers are trained to be.

With the experience, knowledge and skills, I can assure you that I can be an asset to the company. I would be available for an interview anytime convenient to you.
