Within my experience, I’ve had the chance to work in a range of fields that taught me several skills that would bring value to any crew that decides to bring me on as an addition to their team, preferably yours.

My Work Experience Is:

Burger Bench

Escondido, CA.

Server

(Jan. 2018-Dec. 2018)

As a server who’s basically vegetarian, I was constantly asked why I decided to work for a Restaurant whos menu consisted of mainly beef burgers. With the constant request for a suggestion on what burger to choose from on our extensive menu , I learned to adapt to my environment. Not only that, I also learned how to set aside my thoughts & focus on the present.

As a crew member who has others relying on them to complete tasks efficiently & accurately, It is important that I teach myself on all the tasks asked of me before I make the promise to satisfy those commands. The skill to quiet my mind & concentrate on what’s needed of me, is a skill that completes tasks efficiently & accurately.

Bar Louie

Kansas City, MO.

Server

(Mar. 2017-Jan. 2018)

While working as a server at Bar Louie, many of the employees hired on, were inexperienced servers. With the lack of experience as a server, a company can quickly lose business, stack up bad reviews, create an atmosphere of unhappy guests, require other employees to pick up the slack & so much more stressful additives.

As an experienced server, taking on leadership responsibilities is normal. It is important to have quality training because that is what creates quality employees. Training someone the commands, functions & other necessary tips/tools needed to excel as a server, team & company, is the only way to keep progress & a company alive . I flourished in this responsibility because of the training & experience I have had in serving. A lot of people don’t have the patience to teach others but the patience I have acquired over time came from the understanding that everyone has to start somewhere.

The Levee

Kansas City, MO.

Server

(Nov. 2016-Jan. 2018)

The Levee was one of my favorite places to serve because of the team I worked with, the guests I served & the respect I received. I was the only server who tended to a busy bar that played live music Wednesday-Saturday. I served a whole floor that could consume 200-250 people. We served food, drinks, a dance floor & live music.

During my time at The Levee, I learned how to communicate with everyone I come into contact with. A positive first impression goes a long way. You build a certain type of relationship with people based on how you treat them. While serving at The Levee, I learned how to take the good with the bad, how to be a positive presence, how to focus, multitask, how to handle stress & communicate in order for guests to trust me.

Metro PCS

Kansas City, MO.

Sales Associate/Manager

(Dec. 2015-Nov.2016)

Metro PCS was a job that probably taught me more than any other job. I worked as a manager in a store that I opened, worked alone in 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. This job taught me the ways of multi-tasking while selling a customer on a phone, taking care of another customers phone bill payment & staying on hold with customer service all at the same time & sometimes many other tasks on top of those.

I learned how to protect myself because of the neighborhood I worked in in Kansas City, MO. It was a neighborhood corrupted by violence. I would pay customers phone bills out of the love I had for them because how regularly they visited my store. You learn about who your customers really are so you can guide them to the best option for their situation. I didn’t sell, I provided which is a big difference in how a customer will treat you.

I learned how to stay professional, make a store look professional & make people trust me. You learn the process of keeping a business running with the countless tasks that needed to be done before I could clock out. I learned the importance of staying organized, the importance of being accurate, the importance of providing not selling. It’s a job that taught me a lot of the skills I have today.

Embassy Suites

Kansas City, MO.

Banquet, Room Service & Restaurant Server

(Feb. 2015-Dec. 2015)

While working for Embassy Suites, I was given the opportunity to use the skills I learned in a Training program guided towards teaching servers the proper ways of Banquet & Fine Dining Service.

I learned how to manage stress as those above me relied on me more than other employees due to my performance & work ethic. I was given countless tasks to do at once that would land me in the position of working 4 positions at once (room service, fine dining, banquet serving & dishwashing). Not only was I responsible for serving at banquets (banquets that could reach a maximum of hundreds), I was also responsible for setting up & tearing down banquets.

With all the demands given to me, I’d find myself working overtime every week which taught me how to stay positive, motivated & strong mentally as well as physically.

Cottage Care

Shawnee Mission, KS.

House Cleaner

(Jan. 2014-Jan. 2015)

Cottage Care was a job that brought me into my adulthood. It taught me the importance of organizing my priorities. While working as a house cleaner, I learned efficiency. The ability to complete a task such as clean a whole mansion, coach house, apartment complex, or whatever the job was that day, taught me how to follow through & not lazy my way out of what others are counting on me to do.

I learned how to clean appropriately & effectively. I perfected the ways of this position so much, I received “Crew Member of The Month” two times in a row. Given the validation that I was succeeding at what I put my mind to, gave me the confidence I needed to attack my dreams eventually.

Showtime Services

Overland Park, KS.

Customer Service Representative

(Aug. 2012-Aug. 2013)

Showtime Services was a company I worked for as a Customer Service Representative. Before being hired on, I was required to pass a timed test & a two week training class. I learned many tricks on how to use a computer & how to talk to customers over the phone whether it was inbound or outbound calls.

I learned how to complete the requests of clients who paid for our service which were mainly Real Estate Agents, House Owners & Listing Agents. Being detail oriented was one of the most important skills needed in order to satisfy the demands required of the Customer Service Representatives.

This position also taught me how to communicate effectively, timely & appropriately in order to make sure clients could trust us. To work in a call center is loud so being able to focus on what’s at hand is also important in order to be successful.

Culver’s

Kansas City, MO.

Crew Member

(June 2011- May 2012)

Culver’s was the first job I ever had. Working here taught me what working was. I learned how to discipline myself into not calling into work, having a bad mood because I hated my job & how to not spend my whole paycheck on bad investments.

I learned how to talk to customers & up-sell products that would help the business. I learned how to work on a register, work in a fast pace environment, food handling, cash handling & other tricks I picked up as a young adult just starting out in the work field.
