SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE:

SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE:

2008 – Present Derecktor of Florida, Dania Beach, FL 33004

Estimator/Project Manager

I was hired as estimating coordinator for a busy South Florida shipyard specializing in mega yacht (85’ – 220’) repair and refit projects. Derecktor has been a force in the Fort Lauderdale yachting industry since 1967. I am in charge of estimating costs on each aspect of vessel repair including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and metal works; directing subcontractors; working with owners, managers, brokers, captains and engineers in order to organize the scope of projects and ensure schedules are met; and visiting vessels worldwide to collect information about specific necessary repairs.

I also act as a Project Manager, dealing with every feature of the profession including but not limited to meeting with owners, owner’s representatives, yacht brokers, surveyors, captains and chief engineers; coordinating schedules; supervising subcontractors and in-house labor; overcoming obstacles in time and cost overruns; managing billing, invoicing, scheduling payments; and making certain the client leaves the yard satisfied and willing to return for their future projects.

I have also bid and managed commercial ventures for local and state government agencies, creating schedules, budgets and timelines. I am proficient in computer skills, reading blueprints, and effective when speaking with small or large groups.

I also assist in vessel haul outs and launches utilizing our 900 ton Mobile Boat Hoist, 600 ton synchro-lift and 220 ton Travelift. I support in yard operations with cranes, Pettibone lifts, forklifts, man-lifts, JLG’s and trucks.

I also hold a current five hundred ton master captain’s license and operate yard tugs to aid vessels and barges in navigating the shipyard’s waterways.
