Bosch Rexroth Presents "Disruptive" Electric Subsea Valve Actuator

Bosch Rexroth said Monday it would present "a disruptive innovation" for electrically actuating valves in the subsea process industry at Hannover Messe (April 12-16, 2021). "The new SVA R2 Subsea Valve Actuator is the world’s first electric actuator that can replace conventional hydraulic cylinders with field-proven safety technology and without taking up additional space," Bosch Rexroth said."The integrated electric controller offers precise motion control. Thanks to condition monitoring and a safety spring, the SVA R2 satisfies Safety Integrity  Level (SIL) 3

Subsea Valve Actuator certified for Safety Integrity Level 3

The new concept for Subsea Valve Actuators (SVA) from Bosch Rexroth has been certified by DNV GL for application in safety systems with up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 requirements. The SVA is a self-contained actuator for opening and closing process valves in the deep sea at depths down to 3000 meters and deeper. The system consists of an electrically controlled drive with a hydrostatic transmission. The patent-protected SVA is design to open and close process valves for oil and gas production or in CO2 storage systems in deep sea applications. A redundant design, for example of the safety

Bosch Rexroth Launches Subsea Clamping Cylinder for BSC

Bosch Rexroth has launched a new Subsea Clamping Cylinder for fully automatic Bend Stiffener Connectors (BSCs).The system is designed for use for up to 25 years, and, according to the company, is "impressive" with its high clamping forces, powerless holding operation, and easy installation with no need for manual work by divers. According to Bosch Rexroth, the patented automation solution withstands forces of up to 120 tons per clamping cylinder. The cushioning mechanism absorbs vibrations and distributes the load across a number of cylinders within the system. This prevents

Bosch Rexroth Bags Fugro Contract

Fugro, the global geo-data specialist, has awarded a contract to Bosch Rexroth to fully maintain and further improve Fugro Synergy’s hydraulic equipment.Fugro has worked with Bosch Rexroth for over a decade to ensure it has the best hydraulic systems and software solutions on board its geotechnical drilling vessel, the Fugro Synergy. Now, they are working together again in order to better prepare for the future. The Fugro Synergy vessel has been in operation since 2009, and is primarily used to drill into the seabed in order to analyse whether it can be safely used as a foundation for structures

New Offshore Decommissioning Barge

; OPEX costing for the new removal concept.   The solution is a barge concept that uses reverse float-over and on-board lifting methods to remove both the topside and substructure using the same vessel. For the development of the primary float-off lifting system, Longitude partnered with Bosch Rexroth, to develop a heave compensated hydraulic lifting and skidding system.   The resulting vessel design can accommodate the removal of different types of topsides and jackets, without modifying the barge, from removal preparation stages, lifting, topside skidding and securing to underwater
