Blyth Workcats Wins ABP Survey Boat Contract

  At the Seawork International Exhibition in Southampton, Blyth Workcats Ltd announced that Associated British Ports (ABP) has awarded it the contract for a new 14-metre survey vessel to be built at the company’s yard on Canvey Island, Essex, UK. The new boat will be based on one of Blyth Workcats’ established survey craft models but built to a bespoke design detailed to meet the specific requirements of ABP’s hydrographic surveyors. Blyth Workcats Delivers New Dive Boat

Blyth Workcats of Canvey Island, U.K. has delivered a new 11-meter dive boat to the Mevagh Dive Center in County Donegal on the west coast of Ireland. The new boat has now begun work transporting groups of up to 12 divers to sites along the Atlantic coast of Ireland where numerous wrecks make it an interesting but challenging region for recreational divers. Blyth Workcat Joins Osiris Projects Survey Fleet

A new 14m catamaran was delivered to coastal survey specialists Osiris Projects by Blyth Workcats. The new boat, named Proteus of Liverpool, was custom-built at the Blyth Workcats yard on Canvey Island, U.K., to provide a fast yet stable and comfortable working platform for coastal survey work. The boat has been fitted with a range of high specification sonar and acoustic positioning systems that will provide the company’s clients with high quality survey data enhanced by the stability of the new boat. Blyth Workcats to Build Dive Boat for Mevagh

Blyth Workcats of Canvey Island, U.K. will supply a new 11-meter dive boat to the Mevagh Dive Center for use in the Western Atlantic off County Donegal, Ireland, The catamaran, to be named the Laura Dean, is scheduled for delivery in April 2014. It will then begin work transporting groups of up to 12 recreational divers to dive sites in the region, many of which include the wrecks of ships sunk along the Irish coast. The boat will be powered by two Iveco N67 420 hp engines each driving a five-bladed propeller through a twin disc gearbox. These will enable the boat to achieve speeds up to 23-knots

Finnish survey company FCG (Finnish Consulting Group) Ltd. has placed an order for a new GRP survey boat from Blyth Workcats Ltd of Canvey Island, U.K. The 14-meter catamaran will be known as the Nordic Sonar and it is now being built to meet the specialized needs of the FCG survey teams.
