Vaisala Launches New Smart Probes

high temperature or pressurized environments. Dew point measurements are particularly important in various industrial drying applications, for example in ovens and compressed air systems. The dew point probes include Vaisala’s DRYCAP sensor, which is immune to particulate contamination, water condensation, oil vapor, and most chemicals. Its fast reaction time gives it unmatched performance even in dynamic and low dew point applications, and the sensor’s outstanding stability enables a long two-year calibration interval. The Vaisala HUMICAP Moisture in Oil Probe MMP8 extends the Indigo product

New Welding Procedure helps Avoid Drydocking

welding repair area.   The presence of seawater on the outside of a hull structure greatly increases the rate of cooling of weld metal. Fast cooling rates can produce hard martensitic structures in basic carbon steels which in turn can lead to cracking. Furthermore, the cold seawater encourages condensation at the weld site, which further increases the risk of hydrogen cracking.  Conventional ceramic electric heating pads do not supply sufficient heat (typically a maximum of 30°C is reached) to combat the cooling effect of the seawater.   However, with a sufficiently powerful induction

powerful software.   The contact liquid level sensor is intended for low corrosive chemical, waste, oil or water storage applications in above grade metal or reinforced concrete tanks or below grade tanks of any material. Select the sensor for easy application conditions with light agitation, condensation or vapor and installation in a tank adapter or flange fitting.   U.S. price starts at $1,270

Things to Know When Choosing a Water Level Logger

Vented loggers are bulkier than non-vented loggers, making them more difficult to transport and deploy. Most vented loggers require the use of desiccants for moisture protection, which increases the amount of maintenance required and therefore the total cost of ownership of the logger. Condensation buildup can lead to accuracy problems. When monitoring water containing contaminants, you must use vent tubes with contaminant-resistant material, adding to the cost of the logger, as does the decontamination process that’s required before the logger can be redeployed. to ultrasonic and radar sensor technologies, the AST4530 Liquid Level Transmitter will not have an offset in output due to foaming, reflectivity as well as lid angle or proximity to the tank wall. In plastic tanks, a metal plate is not required to be installed under the transmitter. Vapor and condensation will not affect the reading or survivability, as the transmitter is vented through the cable to the outside of the tank or container. For marine and water processing applications, it offers the advantage of not requiring sacrificial anode to reduce corrosion over time. It will also survive longer

Axis: New Security Cameras

The AXIS Q60-S PTZ Dome Network Cameras in nitrogen-pressurized stainless steel casings can resist the corrosive effect of sea water and cleaning chemicals, and withstand high-pressure steam cleaning. Pressurized nitrogen prevents internal condensation. Axis Communications launched three outdoor-ready, marine-grade stainless steel cameras that enable 360° coverage of wide areas in resolutions up to HDTV 1080p and great zoomed-in detail with up to 36x optical zoom.  AXIS Q60-S cameras, with SAE 316L stainless steel and a nylon clear dome cover, can operate in -30°C to 50°C (-22°F

capabilities also make both new FX2 Series models suited for use on high-end sportfishing vessels, as well. The Koden CVS-FX2 features a large-format 15-inch color LCD display with an antireflective filter bonded directly to the screen, improving visibility in direct sunlight while preventing condensation in cold conditions and challenging environments. CVS-FX2’s features are easy to access using the unit’s dedicated keyboard. For vessels that want to integrate the advanced fishfinding performance and unique capabilities of the CVS-FX2 with existing bridge displays, SI-TEX also offers
