Nippon Yusen to Invest in EMAS Chiyoda Subsea Services JV
Japanese shipper Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has agreed to invest in EMAS Chiyoda, a subsea services joint venture between oilfield services firm Ezra Holdings Ltd and Chiyoda Corp, Ezra said in a statement late on Friday. Singapore's Ezra, through its EMAS AMC subsidiary, plans to sell a 10 percent stake in the joint venture for $36 million, while engineering company Chiyoda will sell a 15 percent stake. EMAS AMC Installs 50 Platforms for Chevron
EMAS AMC, the subsea services division of EMAS, a global offshore contractor and provider of integrated offshore solutions to the oil and gas industry has achieved the milestone of installing 50 platforms for Chevron in the Gulf of Thailand. Under a multiyear contract that commenced in 2011, EMAS AMC has also laid 376km of subsea pipes utilizing the construction vessel Lewek Champion, a DP2 rigid pipe laying vessel with heavy lift capabilities. LDD Install Piles at Offshore Gabon, W. Africa Field
deliver a specialist foundation installation programme, including drilling, grouting, lifting and handling to VAALCO Gabon (Etame) Inc., the operator of the Etame Marin block. The fieldwork phase for the LDD operation started in April. For the jacket installation, LDD says it will work closely with EMAS AMC to install four 48-in.-outside-diameter piles for each jacket.
