MTS, IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society, SOI announce Partnership
Marine Technology Society (MTS), the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) and Schmidt Ocean Institute (SOI), announced a new partnership that will focus on the effective development and application of marine science and technology for purposes of exploration, understanding, and sustainable use of the ocean and its resources. The collaboration includes supporting student and early career marine technology professionals, women in marine science and technology, and other joint activities between the two societies and the Institute.The partnership kicked off with sponsorship of the international OCEANS

60th OCEANS Conference Held in Aberdeen
Cosponsors the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) jointly hosted the OCEANS '17 MTS/IEEE Aberdeen from June 19-22, 2017 in Aberdeen, Scotland. The event, held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC), marked the 60th edition of the global ocean engineering and marine technology forum. “The overall conference was a great example of local Scottish marine technology, and, at the same time, brought to Aberdeen marine science and technology experts from around the globe,” said Professor John Watson, Chair for OCEANS Aberdeen.

IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society Student Poster Awards
The 33rd IEEE OES Student Poster Competition has just been held at the OCEANS’13 conference and exhibition in San Diego, U.S. Students were able to enjoy the opportunity of bringing their research to the eyes of the conference attendees by displaying and explaining their work, presented in 16 outstanding posters, selected from 100 received Abstracts. The students came from schools spread across Europe, Asia, the U.S. and Canada. The program was organized and directed by K.
