Subsea Mining: Arctic Canadian Diamond, IHC unveil innovative Crawler

Oceanica’s Petrobras Operations Get Lynx ROVs

Brazilian subsea engineering company Oceanica is expanding its fleet of Saab Seaeye remotely operated vehicles (ROV) with two new Lynx vehicles extensively fitted with cameras and tools.   Each Lynx will be used in conjunction with two new vessels being built for Oceanica’s growing Petrobras activities in the vast Brazilian oil fields.   Head of ROV operations, Manoel Teixeira Lopes Filho, said, “I am really happy with the two Falcons we bought and believe the two Lynx will be equal in reliability and performance.”   Both of the 1,500-meter rated, six thruster

Bibby Offshore Secures Contract with MGTC

ROV pipeline inspection, remedial work and associated project management on its South East Asia asset offshore Myanmar. Bibby Offshore will supply its DP2 ROV support vessel, Bibby Spring. The vessel is equipped with dual ROVs, including the latest 150HP, 3000m-rated SMD Quasar, and complemented by a Lynx lightweight ROV suitable for dive support, inspection and repair. The 60 day project on the Yadana field in the Andaman Sea commenced on 16 February 2015, and will be carried out in water depths of up to 146 meters.
