Gazprom in Talks to Buy Stakes in Brazilian Offshore Oil Blocks
OAO Gazprom, the world's largest natural gas producer, is in talks with rivals to buy stakes in oil exploration areas in Brazil, a senior executive said on Tuesday. The plans, which would be in the form of farm-ins, are preferentially for offshore blocks already under exploration in South America's biggest country, Shakarbek Osmonov, a senior executive with Gazprom's Brazil and Latin America operations, said at an event in Rio de Janeiro.
