Marlink Debuts Sealink 60 VSAT Service

usage, data speeds up to 5 Mbps and a choice of Maximum Information Rate (MIR)-only or combined MIR/Committed Information Rate (CIR) plans. The service can be upgraded from regional to global coverage, with short term bandwidth upgrades and up to six months of lay-up per year also available.Network management for crew and corporate connectivity is managed by Marlink’s digital XChange server onboard, with prepaid ‘crew calling’ options for voice, email and web browsing on their own devices. 

TE SubCom Launches New NOC Solution

TE Connectivity Ltd. company TE SubCom has launched a new global network operations center (NOC) solution designed to provide cable operators with a single source for fault, configuration, alarm, performance, security and maintenance network management. SubCom’s primary and secondary NOC solutions are vendor-neutral and able to conform to customer requirements, integrating seamlessly into operational flow. Fugro to Install New Undersea Power Cable off Australia

Fugro won a contract to install a subsea power cable for South Australia’s distribution network management company, SA Power Networks. The new 20,000 kVA/33,000 Volt cable will replace the existing 10,000 kVA/33,000 Volt undersea cable, which is reaching the end of its life. The subsea asset is a continuous 15-kmlong cable, weighing 600 tonnes and connects Kangaroo Island to the distribution network on the southern Fleurieu Peninsula, south of Adelaide.   Fugro will design and supply the power cable and will use its multi role support vessel, REM Etive, to install it across Backstairs

Fugro to Replace Australian Subsea Cable

Fugro informs it has been awarded a contract to install a subsea power cable for South Australia’s distribution network management company, SA Power Networks.   The new 20,000 kVA/33,000 Volt cable will replace the existing 10,000 kVA/33,000 Volt undersea cable, which is reaching the end of its life.
