Sonar Equipment Services Renamed Subsea Technology & Rentals

A new name in advanced subsea equipment supply is being unveiled at Subsea Expo on February 5, 2014. Great Yarmouth-based Sonar Equipment Services will now trade under the name of Subsea Technology & Rentals (STR) to better reflect the broader range of products and associated services they now supply to the subsea sector following a restructure and significant investment in premises, people and equipment. Sonar Equipment Services of Great Yarmouth, U.K., have recently added the new Applied Acoustics’ CSP-N seismic power supply to its equipment pool. The 1,200-Joule reverse polarity unit selected by Sonar Equipment will operate a variety of Applied Acoustics’ sound sources including the triple boomer plate S-Boom System, single plate boomers and the new long-life Dura-Spark 240. This novel catamaran based sparker assembly has extremely durable electrodes that rarely need replacing and is ideal for high and ultra high resolution geophysical surveys. Great Yarmouth-based Sonar Equipment Services has successfully delivered its first multi-sensor ROV survey package to Calecore’s marine survey division, Calesurvey. The supplier of marine survey equipment to the offshore energy industry has integrated, tested and mobilized a complex array of survey and subsea equipment complete with offshore support personnel for the survey in Norwegian waters.
