Acteon Partners Win Heavy Lift Survey Support Deal
UTEC NCS Survey, part of UTEC Survey, an Acteon company, announced it was recently awarded a contract for heavy lift support services for a project in the Baltic Sea. Partnering with another Acteon company, LDD, the contract is to deliver, in January 2016, a pile guide frame monitoring system, which will be used for the installation of approximately 70 foundation pile clusters for the subsequent installation of four-legged jackets for the Wikinger windfarm development in the Baltic Sea.
Polarcus Innovation in Seismic Vessel Design
Polarcus Limited received its eighth 3D seismic vessel on 21 June 2012 when Polarcus Adira was delivered at Ulstein Verft in Norway. The vessel is the second of two 12-14 streamer Arctic 3D seismic vessels built at the yard, and is the eighth vessel in the Polarcus fleet of the Ulstein SX134 design. Fugro Wins 3-Year Offshore Malaysia Positioning Contract
Fugro informs it has been awarded a contract for three years, plus a one-year extension option, by Murphy Sabah Oil Co., Ltd. for the provision of rig and subsea positioning services offshore Sabah & Sarawack, Malaysia. Software Aids Subsea Power Cable Installation
Makai Ocean Engineering, Inc. recently modified the popular telecom cable lay software, MakaiLay, to address specific issues experienced by the subsea power cable industry. Bourne Tidal Test Site Receives Preliminary Permit from FERC
The Bourne Tidal Test Site is now a bit closer to reality. The Marine Renewable Energy Collaborative (MRECo) was notified by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that it has been approved for a preliminary permit to set up a test site for tidal energy in the Cape Cod Canal. “This is the first and very important step to gaining all the regulatory permits required for the test site, which will be the first in the United States,” said MRECo Director, John Miller.
