Silicon Sensing latest accelerometer, Zenith, has been released to the marine market.

Zenith (CAS150/170) is a closed-loop, single-axis micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) accelerometer designed for critical marine applications. It combines low-noise performance with low SWap-C, delivering sustained linear-acceleration measurement for many applications, including long-endurance or fast-changing operations in the harshest surface and sub-surface environments.

Zenith combines low noise spectral density for superior signal clarity, with a 14g dynamic range, enabling accurate data capture in demanding conditions. Surface-mountable for straightforward integration, it is available in in-plane (CAS150) and orthogonal (CAS170) sensing configurations, allowing engineers to achieve multi-axis measurement on a single printed circuit board assembly (PCBA). This optimizes the use of space without compromising on reliability.

August marks the annual hydrographic e-magazine and the opportunity to highlight some of the global research underway in our world’s oceans. We explore hydrographic data, climate simulations, subsea networks and cybersecurity, camera technology, autonomous operations, sonar and survey solutions, as well as ROVs.
