Know the safety precautions to be observed with regard to the use of various paints,thinners and cleners.Tocarry out maintenance and repair duties directed by the buson or chfmate in all areas of the vessel.Take sounding of tanks and bilges when required and record the results honestly and carefully.asst in plugging ofscuppers when required.asst with pollution cleanup operations as requiredperform gangway security duties whlst the vessel iws the port.Lifting opration loading and uploading cargoes.signal or verbally direct workers in hosting and moving loads,in order to ensure safety of worker and materials.
