Captain/Master

During my 40 years at sea, including 20 years as Master, I have gained experience on a wide range of ship types and sizes including containers, dry bulk, RoRo, heavy lift, passenger and general cargo (including a variety of projects cargo’s). This experience was gained in a variety of geographical locations and includes ice navigation in the Baltic, Canada and Greenland. 

Starting as an Ordinary Seaman and working my way up through the ranks, I have an in depth knowledge of all aspects of ship operation, maintenance and cargo work.  I have experience of leading, motivating and training crews of up to 15 persons including the training of cadets and I am confident in manoeuvring vessels of all types. With my last ship I did a lot of port entering and inland sailing without pilots and without any damage to ship or other objects.

I am not afraid to take responsibility, but I also listen to others and see myself as a promoter of human resources. I do have excellent computer skills.
