Experience

83m m/y romea April 2015 - June 2018

Working as chief engineer from the final stages of construction of a German built 83m private yacht. Responsible for construction of the vessels planned and preventative maintenance database in accordance with manufacturers instructions, international legislation and classification society requirements. Reviewed Management company SMS documentation and completed technical vessel specific documentation. Managed the vessels warranty schedule and works. Planes and carried out various dry-docking and refit periods. Operated and maintained the vessel through dual charter seasons.

80m m/y golden odyssey ii January 2015 - April 2015

Worked as interim chief engineer on 80m motor yacht Golden Odyssey as it underwent completion of pre sale docking and name change before planned handover of vessel to V Ships Management company. Was involved in the final stages of a 6 months dry dock refit period. Duties included overseeing and assisting with completion of yard works, floating of vessel from dry dock, sea trail inspections after major propulsion overhaul, 25 year classification survey. Port and flag state inspections. Preparation, amendments and modernising of engineering documentation to assist in vessel handover to new crew. Management of engine room crew in routine and breakdown maintenance.

Sd Northern river july - september 2014

9 weeks as relief 2nd engineer on stand-by supply vessel SD Northern River. the vessel was operating as a platform for emergency response submarine search and rescue contracted to the Royal Navy.

M/Y Samar - February 2012 - April 2014

Served as 2nd engineer and then back to back chief engineer on 8 year old  77m MY Samar. Responsible for all technical operations, maintenance, repair and management of engineering staff onboard. Responsible for planning and overseeing annual shipyard and repair periods. involved in specification, planning and design of system modifications to domestic air conditioning and waste management systems, electrical distribution and diesel electric propulsion upgrades for prospective longevity docking periods.

M/Y C2 2011-2012

3 months as relief 2nd engineer covering ill rotational engineer on 78m private motor yacht 

M/Y C2. Was involved with all aspects of onboard engineering operations and maintenance 

including out of water repair period, class and flag state surveys, Atlantic crossing, and 1st 

winter season/ new year owners cruise. 

M/Y CAKEWALK - 2011

4 weeks as relief 2nd engineer on on 10 month old 85m private motor yacht Cakewalk. Was 

involved in all aspects of operation and maintenance onboard. 

M/Y KATARA 2011

8 weeks as relief 2nd Engineer on recently put into service 124m private motor yacht Katara. Completed an Atlantic crossing and then worked to prepare the vessel for owners first voyage. Gained experience in trouble shooting newly commissioned systems and processing warranty claims. Also involved in setting up and refining SMS procedures along with mandatory operational checks and procedures.

BP MARITIME SERVICES 2004- 2011

Joined the company as 4th Engineer and served on all types of motor tankers operated by the company. gained sea time to return to college and gain Class 2 CoC in December 2005. Promoted to 2nd Engineer in August 2009 and sailed back to back on 12900KW, 12000GRT product tanker, MV British Harmony.

Spent 1 week onboard 23760KW, 22157GRT cross channel Ro-Pax ferry, MV Midnight Merchant as agency relief for back to back 3rd Engineer on paternity leave.

the maersk company i.o.m 2001-2004

Served a 3 year cadetship gaining 11 months sea experience on container vessels of various size. Qualified in late 2003.  Completed 1 trip qualified on 36470KW, 49985GRT Panamax container vessel, MV Sealand Mercury.
