  • Steered activities as a Member of:
    • Expert Committee of A&N Administration, commissioned by Lt. Governor of A&N Islands in Development of Transhipment Port in Great Nicobar Island
    • Expert Committee formed by Ministry of Shipping, Government of India for the development of Port in Tadadi, Karnataka
    • Expert Committee formed by Government of India for the development of Transport Hub in Andrott Island, Lakshadweep
      • Rendered consultancy to Department of Fisheries, Government of Tamil Nadu for development of fishing harbour at Kasimedu, Chennai
      • Functioned as a Chief Information Officer of ALHW to handle Right to Information requests and responses & document management

Accomplishments:

  • Distinction of heading activities & maintaining effective relationships with Port Management Board (PMB), Andaman Labour Force (ALF), A&N Administration & Ministry of Shipping during crisis situation that impacted 2800 people directly
  • Proved successful in efficiently planning & coordinating Tsunami Rehabilitation of damaged port structures with A&N Administration, Ministry of Shipping, PMB & other stake holders and executed them at a cost of Rs. 550 Crores (approximately) on war footing basis in a record time.
  • Spearheaded smooth shipping operations in the A&N islands without interruption after Tsunami in Dec’04 inspite of shortage of resources and manpower
  • Merit of completing the development of Junglighat Harbour (Phase I & II) and led the successful approval for a funding of Rs. 195 Crores from Government of India
  • Stellar role in liaising and representing the Tsunami Rehabilitation Program at the Planning Commission of India; presented the regular status updates and progress reports to Hon”ble Home Minister, Shri. P. Chidambaram and Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Shri. Montek Singh Ahluwalia over 10 instances

  • R.C.C Bridge across Austin Creek in Middle Andaman – the project was completed ahead of schedule at a budget of Rs.168 Crores, thus resulting in substantial cost savings of Rs. 2.80 Crores through effective planning and barest minimum manpower
  • R.C.C Jetties founded on Bored Piles at Gandhi Nagar and Sagardweep Islands at a budget of Rs. 25 Crores
  • Slipway at Mayabunder to facilitate Repairs of Smaller Ships
  • 2 School Buildings at North and Middle Andamans without any time and cost overrun in a challenging terrain
  • Headquarter Building of Panchayati Raj Institution at Port Blair in a very complex geographic location
  • Deep Water Wharves at Little Andaman and Campbell Bay to facilitate berthing of mainland bounds passenger ships thus eliminating a huge problem that was faced till date by 30,000 passenger per year
  • Planned, designed and constructed port structures as part of Government of India’s Five Year plan
  • Breakwater at Andrott Island at a total project value of Rs. 46 Crores
  • R.C.C Jetty on Pile Foundation at Kavaratti, Agatti, Minicoy & Amini Islands
