Description

Objective: After successful management and Administration of vessels afloat and at sea, seeking a permanent and challenging shore based employment, within the Oil & Gas, Shipping Industry.

Summary:

Master Mariner:

Having diversified command experience of 17 years on Crude Oil tankers, OBO’s, Chemical tankers and Product tankers. In addition having served as Master on dry cargo vessels.

Port Captain -  Marine Superintendent:

Dynacom Tankers  Management, Athens, GREECE. (1993-1998)

Worked as a Port Captain / Marine Superintendent stationed in Fujairah, and Dubai in the U.A.E and Athens, Greece managing the preparation for Oil Majors vetting inspections worldwide.

Major over haul of ship board equipments, Dry docking of vessels, major repairs and alterations to vessels in order comply with various Rules and Regulations and Authorities requirements.

Overseeing the Loading, Discharging and Offshore operations of vessels including but not limited to Tandem loading, STS operations with various large vessels underway and anchored as well as at SBM’s.

Loss control and expediting the turnaround of vessels in ports and in loading and discharging terminals around the world.

Safety training of onboard crews.

Auditing of vessels as per ISO 9000-9002.

Bunker and draft surveys as and when required.

National Tankers Limited, Pakistan.(1998-2005)

  1. Worked as a Marine superintendent, involved with dry docking, cargo operations, repairs, preparing vessels for Oil Majors until moving to the United States as a permanent resident in 2005.

International Marine Consultants, New York. (2006 – 2009)

Worked as a loss control, cargo expeditor / Technical  advisor  over seeing on board cargo operations at berths; Anchorages; Offshore & Ship to Ship cargo transfer operations; monitoring and advising ship staff and covering all of  USA ports  and World Wide which entailed Oil tankers, Product tankers, Chemical tankers, ATB’s and ITB’s.  

Marathon Petroleum Company, Garryville. Louisiana.  2009 – 2011

Worked as a class 1, OCIMF-SIRE, accredited Marine safety Inspector from March 2009 till May 2011 for the Marine Department covering all Inspections and Audits of all types of crude oil tankers, clean product tankers, chemical tankers and oil barges, tug boats, ITB’s and ATB’s.

All vetting activities conducted in compliance with and within the Maritime Standards including company’s H.S.S.E and Quality Management Systems and International guidelines and best practices in Shipping. 

Maintaining the vessels Marine Data Base in order provide immediate response to vessels acceptability’s for company business.

Member of the Audit team conducting Audits of Barge Companies in line with established Audit Plans in order to continuously improve the operational and safety aspects of those vessels employed by the company on regular basis.

Marathon Oil Corporation Houston, Texas. 2011 to present

Transferred to Marathon Oil Corporate Office E & P on split up in 2011 and continued working within their Global Marine and Transportation department as a class 1, OCIMF-SIRE, OVID accredited Marine safety Inspector covering all Inspections and Audits of all types of Shuttle tankers in the North Sea, Europe and the UK Continent, crude oil tankers, clean product tankers, chemical tankers and Offshore supply vessels, Crew boats, and Anchor Handling Tug boats.

All vetting activities conducted in compliance with and within the Maritime Standards including company’s H.S.S.E and Quality Management Systems and International guidelines and best practices in Shipping. 

Risk Management of Marine Activities undertaken world wide.

Actively participating in the development and the implementation and enforcement of vetting policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of performance and safety culture.

 

Member of CERT (Corporate Emergency Response Team) and actively engaged in the regular Emergency drills & exercises with shipping companies; overseas terminals and Marine related Incidents and assist in updating the Emergency Plans.

Member of the Audit team conducting Audits of Tanker & Shuttle tanker Operators and Companies in line with established Audit Plans (TMSA) in order to continuously improve the operational and safety aspects of those vessels employed by the company on regular basis.

-       Certificate in International Safety Management Code. 

-       Certificate in International Ships and Ports security.

-       Certificate in Overseas Trade Studies.

-       Certificate in Human Resource Management.

-       Certificate in Microsoft’97.

-       S.O.R.A. Accreditation, USA.

-       Transport Workers Identification Credentials.

  • Involved with the Audit of Teekay Shipping, Norway as an Auditor, as per Contract of Affreightment agreement & as per TMSA requirements.
  • Involved as an Auditor & a member of the team of Transportation Department in the External Audit of MOL, London. 
  • Involved as an Auditor & a member of the Audit team in the Audit of Mitsubishi OSK Lines, Tokyo. Japan.
  • Involved as a team member of the Audit team in the Audits of Barge Companies situated and located within the USA.
  • Team member at various conferences pertaining to subchapter M involved with the United States Coast Guard stationed in Louisiana.

  • Involved in the contingency planning and the execution for Emergencies occurring at sea on board company chartered vessels.

Ø Involved in the vetting and physical inspections of Crude tankers; product tankers; Chemical tankers and Shuttle Tankers of various dead weights ranging from Panamax to VLCC’s within the USA and worldwide as per OCIMF – TMSA requirements.  

Ø Involved in the vetting & physical inspections of Tugs; Barges; Integrated Barges(ITB’s); Articulated Barges(ATB’s) having conducted inspections on over 150 vessels all over in the brown waters of USA.

Ø Involved in the vetting and physical inspections of OSV’s; AHT’s as per OVMSA & OCIMF requirements.
