Marine inspector/Auditor

Professional Experience                  

• ·         Responsible for screening all foreign merchant vessels for crew discrepancies and certain dangerous cargoes bound for the Ports of Galveston, Texas City, and Freeport, TX.
• ·         Conducted Port State Control examinations on foreign merchant vessels for compliance with all U.S. laws, shipping and pollution regulations, international treaties, locally mandated marine safety and security issues in the largest petrochemical port complex in the U.S.
• ·         Provided marine safety technical expertise during numerous high profile multi agency boardings assisting USCGIS, INS, USCS and FBI on foreign merchant vessels in the Port of Houston -Galveston, TX.
• ·         Expert in determining compliance with the International Safety Management Code mandated by congress; assisted third party auditors and foreign governments to bring merchant vessels into compliance.
• ·         Served as lead training Petty Officer for the Port State Control Branch. Trained Eight members in Foreign Freight Vessel Exams and High Risk Vessel Boardings, which significally increased productivity and effectiveness of the branch.
• ·         Unit liaison for the Galveston County Narcotics and Antiterrorism Task Force, FBI, and CGIS.
• ·         Engineering Petty Officer Supervised 4 Petty officer and 2 non-rates and was responsible for all maintenance on the boats and the facility.
• ·         Boat crewmen for search and rescue missions.        
• ·         Conducted USCG 4100 boarding’s on recreational boats.
• ·         Conducted Investigation on Marine Casualties incidents and completed all casework.
• ·         Conducted Investigations on Coast Guard Licensed Mariners on Suspension & Revocation cases.
• ·        Pollution Investigation Petty Officer.
• ·        Waterfront Facility Inspector.

• ·       USCGC 210 MMA Project supervised 15 non-rated personnel
• ·       Engineering Department on the Tug Massager.  Vessel was used for fire response on the Yard and to assist other Vessels in and out of dry dock.
