New build project Site-in-charge, Owner rep for Halul Offshore services -08 Jan 2018- Ongoing

  • Project supervision as Naval Architect and New build Site project in charge for 2x 75M PSVs under OSLO marine services, Singapore. Appointed consultant for Halul Offshore services, Qatar.
  • Supervision for Modification works as per MOA scope..
  • Attending owner inspections for dry dock, tank testings, drawing reviews, trial protocols and coordinating with owner & yard for delivery aspects and overall incharge for Naval architecture scope of works.

Manager Shipbuilding Projects, Jana Marine Services, Saudi Arabia- (01 Aug 2014 - 19 June 2016).

 

  • Direct reporting to CEO for New Build & its Quality Assurance and Project Management.
  • Effectively managed the assigned New Build projects from inception Tender stage to delivery stage.     (05 x 59.6 M Steel Hull work boats and 03 x 34.3 M Aluminum Hull-Crew Boats. Total Project outlay 60 million USD. All projects completed within SBC’s delivery Schedules and chartered to Saudi Aramco within short time after delivery).
  • Coordination and directing the 02 new build Site teams to ensure timely completion, addressing technical issues with progress review meetings between the  yard and Site teams.
  • Technical Specification preparation, Tendering, design finalization and award of Ship building contract to shipyard for 02 nos 35 T Bollard Pull Voith propulsion Tugs.  (JMS won 15 years long-term charter contract from Saudi Arabia based on this submitted design proposal).
  • New build’s preliminary design review and preparation of Tender specifications as per Saudi Aramco requirements for A self-propelled, self-elevating, multipurpose vessel to safely provide maintenance support services to offshore platforms/single well structures.” Coordinated with various shipyards for basic/preliminary design for new build tender submissions.
  • Technical review of new build project drawings, Fire & Safety Systems designs/Equipment installation approvals, Test & Trail programs, Inspections & delivery schedules etc. during Tender and construction Stages.
  • Coordination with Classification societies for approvals, inspections & certifications, technical issues and business related issues.

New build Project Site-in-Charge Owner representative for HOSC, Qatar, Aug 2012- Apr 2014

 

  • Effectively managed the ship construction of 91 M Diving support vessel at ABG Shipyard, India as owner representative till the vessel delivery from shipyard.
  • Carried out various site inspections during vessel construction and ensured timely close outs of corrective actions for non-conformities in Quality Assurance and Safety management onsite.
  • Coordinated with DNV class (nominated statutory authority) for Class & statutory surveys, comment closing and class related issues regularly throughout the project tenure.
  • Coordinated with shipyard & inspected the Heavy structural Installation of Hyperbaric pressurized

Air diving and SAT diving chambers, pressurized vessels and High pressure air system.

 

Technical Superintendent & QHSE Head KBM Marine Services-Qatar- Nov 2010- Mar 2012

 

  •   Overall responsible for Technical & QHSE management of 08 offshore vessels working in oil & Gas fields. Effectively provided the technical Management for ships during Ship repairs , dry docking & operation periods.
  • Managed shore based repair team for planned preventive maintenance programs.
  • Closely coordinated with Class & statutory inspection agencies, Oil companies for Quality, Safety & Security audits. Successfully Implemented internal QHSE Audits and Inspections of vessels & office.
  • Lead cross functional team during statutory third party inspection agency audits and ensure Compliance within allowed time for closeout of all deficiencies.

Hull Department In charge Indian Navy Jul 1999- Aug 2009

  •    Managed various Short & Normal refits, routine ship repairs for Naval warships at Naval

Dockyards and Hindustan Shipyard.

  •    Conducted Various Hull Surveys as Hull Inspector and completed docking surveys for various ships.
  •    Sailed on board various Indian Naval warships for 05 years as onboard Naval Architect.

  • Presently pursuing MTech Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering in  Andhra University ,India

(From Sep 2016 to present).  Academic semesters completed and Dissertation in progress.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Diploma in Ship building and Naval Architecture.
  • Post Graduate diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA).
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate - Occupational Health & Safety. (Nebosh IGC).
  • Qualified ISO Lead Auditor course.
