Purchasing coordinator

I have a diverse maritime background with valuable experience in coast live services, brokering, purchasing, administration and accounting.

In my last position as a Purchasing coordinator, I was responsible for the ordering of materials, supplies, and/or equipment, and the follow through with vendors on shipment and delivery using Danaos programme for four bulk carriers. I also assisted the accounting and the legal department of the shipping company.  I was responsible for the call operation of the company, for preparing and sending packages to vessels, personnel ticketing, providing accuracy and details about business trips, crew claims and MGA payments.

At my position as an Assistant in Coast Line Services in Zante Ferries Company, gained experience in coast line services and participated in a range of large-scale projects in different ports. Also, in Olympia Shipbroking Company, I was the assistant in calculation of Voyage estimation and assessment practices where I was required to ensure calculations are correctly implemented for every voyage. My previous work experience also indicates my thorough knowledge of Maritime sector, as I have been part of three departments, responsible for and conducting major maritime issues, such as the purchasing of more than four ships.

I am a focused and motivated professional with a strong academic record in maritime sector (MSc in Maritime Economics and a BSc in Maritime Studies, both from the University of Piraeus, Greece).  I am passionate about this industry and I would like to become a core part of the operation department of a shipping company in order to further develop my shipping skills.

As someone who works well under pressure and who excels in overall management, organizing and planning, I am confident that my experience, abilities and enthusiasm would provide a positive influence within a forward-thinking organization in the UK. I welcome the opportunity to discuss my interest further.

Furthermore, maritime industry is my interest based on my working and academic experience. I would like to find a job or an internship so as to learn how a shipping company works in UK and to become a competitive member of them.
