  • Warehouse Logistics and Shipping CoOrdinator at Zodiac Aerospace
    Dec 2011
My duties include organising and co-ordinating the on time despatch of aircraft seats, galley units and bar units to a number of Airlines; these include ETIHAD, Japan Airlines, ANA and the airframe manufacturers; Boeing and Airbus. In order to achieve this, I liaise with production and quality departments to ensure all releasing paperwork is correct and appropriate invoices and customs documents are complete. I am also responsible for inter-company transfers to achieve the final delivery. My responsibility is critical in ensuring on time delivery to avoid financial penalties. Also included in my duties is ensuring the correct type of packaging is ordered in the correct sizes, much of the packaging is bespoke, specifically for the product. I have been able to improve processes by assisting in the company LEAN improvement scheme and training other members of staff in LEAN processes. I am a representative for the logistics and machine shop departments on the company employee council which includes meeting with senior management and helping members of the workforce with any issues they wish to be discussed with the management team. I am flexible and in my approach often have to work unsociable hours at short notice to help ensure targets are met. I gained my 1.5 tonne counter balance forklift licence in 2013
