Brief Job Description in the above Managerial position:

  • Complete responsibility for safe navigation & techno-commercial performance of vessels; effective cargo handling viz. Container etc.
  • Liaising with port authorities and officials for smooth turnaround of vessels.
  • Operating vessel to safe optimum limits, without any delays or deficiencies and within the parameters of approved budget.
  • Operation and maintenance of different types of cargo handling gear, like cranes.
  • Monitoring staff performance and motivating them to achieve set targets.
  • Implement health & safety systems & procedures for minimizing occupational hazards, pollution prevention & protection of Marine environment.
  • Provide information, instruction, training, and supervision as necessary to protect the health and safety of crew members.
  • Drafted various ship specific plans as per Generic guidelines provided by the company and laid up Ship Specific procedures for compliance of the same (Ex STS Plan, Bio-Fouling Plan, NPDES, Garbage Management Plan, Ballast Management Plan to keep the vessel updated with the latest requirements)
  • Preparing the vessels for various audits/ inspections with excellent results.
  • Identify parts of ship structures with substantial wastage for timely renewal in line with safety norms.
  • Carried out 2 Dry Docks including preparing repair / Dry-dock specifications for Container ships.
  • Major experience in handling PSC inspections / inspectors / investigators, in various countries / continents including USCG.
    • Part of delivery vessels take over team, initial set up of ISM and company’s systems and initial surveys.
