Dutch marine contractor Boskalis on Monday acquired all the shares of Rever Offshore’s subsea services business.Rever, formerly known as Bibby Offshore, provides solutions in the area of subsea construction, inspection, repair, and maintenance. Maritime Developments (MDL) has won a flex lay project with Bibby Offshore just after completing an umbilical installation with the EPIC contractor.The recently concluded project in a North Sea gas field used the MDL RDS-400, a 400-mertic-ton reel drive system, operated by MDL offshore personnel and supported by the company’s 3mradius departure chute. Bibby Offshore won a two-phase multimillion dollar contract with a leading oil and gas and production company. The U.K.’s Bibby Offshore will merge with Norwegian firm Rever Offshore AS in a move targeting opportunities in the diving and subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) markets.
