Glosten, Siemens Energy Select Key Equipment Vendors for World's First Hydrogen-hybrid Research Vessel
;The vessel, nominally known as the CCRV, is currently in the design phase and will be owned and operated by UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography (Scripps). Ballard Power Systems will provide the fuel cells which will help power the vessel, and Chart Industries will provide the cryogenic tank and fuel gas system where the liquid hydrogen fuel will be bunkered and conditioned for the fuel cells—both essential components of a hydrogen-fuel-cell propulsion system. The equipment from these vendors will allow extended zero-emissions operation of the Scripps’ CCRV to
HiLoad LNG Offloading Solution Presented at OTC
HiLoad LNG AS, a subsidiary of Sevan Marine ASA, and Technip presented together this year the HiLoad LNG Parallel Loading System (PLS) at OTC. This system utilizes the HiLoad LNG unit for station keeping and Technip’s cryogenic flexible aerial pipes to transfer LNG from a FLNG unit (either a Sevan Marine Cylindrical unit or ship shaped FLNG) to a fully conventional LNGC with no modifications necessary. The combination of the HiLoad LNG unit and Technip’s cryogenic pipes was simulated last year at MARIN’s facilities in Holland. The successful outcome of this simulation

testing and technical project work for the oil and gas sector. From flammable gas dispersion and pipeline fracture tests to vapour cloud fires and hazard awareness training, typical projects for pipeline operators will generally feature: flammable or toxic gases, high pressures or temperature, cryogenic liquids, high explosives, risk of loss of containment and rapid data capture. * DNV GL also provides many of the market leading pipeline software such as Synergi Pipeline and Sesam Pipeline
FSRUs Perform STS Transfer of LNG in Pakistan
17, 2015. Excelerate's floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Exquisite received 130,000 cubic meters of LNG from the FSRU Excelerate using the double-banked LNG transfer system. This transfer also marks the company's 500th commercial STS operation using the double-banked cryogenic transfer system technology developed by Excelerate. Commissioned in late March of this year, the terminal initially employed the Exquisite for both cargo delivery and regasification purposes. The terminal will continue to receive LNG supply via periodical STS transfers allowing for the

the Great Lakes and represents an opportunity for an unprecedented planetary exploration mission. The major risks found in the Phase I conceptual design center around vehicle operations in a liquid hydrocarbon sea. Basic physics questions of operating in this cryogen need to be answered. Cryogenic experts at the NASA Glenn Research Center will develop models to explore mixtures and pressures of cryogens and gases and how they would react with a warm submarine.

(DMR) process, which uses steam-driven refrigerant compressors and ultra-cold seawater to chill the gas to –162°C, shrinking the volume by 600 times. Stored in tanks in the hull with an overall capacity of over 430 million liters (114 million US gal), it will be transferred by special loading cryogenic arms to tankers moored next to the facility. it and to allow ourselves a little bit of room for overproduction. In short, we will initially have a single berth, a single vessel, and then the potential to expand to two berths and two vessels. Offloading to conventional LNG carriers will be by ship-to-ship transfer using cryogenic articulated arms. You just segued perfectly into the next question, which is “Your pioneering efforts in the ship-to-ship transfer technology that’s central to your other operations. Can you just give me an overview? We have transferred
Ferguson Launches Cryogenic and ISO Tanks
The Ferguson Group, a supplier of DNV 2.7-1/EN12079 certified offshore containers, accommodation and workspace modules is expanding its product range, to include cryogenic and ISO tanks. The cryogenic tanks, 10 ft with a 7,890 ltr capacity, are designed for the transportation and storage of liquefied industrial gases. New to the Ferguson Group. Judith Verner, Fluid Solutions - Development Manager is based at the group’s headquarters in Aberdeenshire. She has been managing the introduction of the cryogenic tanks to the Ferguson Group’s fleet. Judith sees the new Cryogenic tanks as an
