Viridien, TGS Deliver High-Res Data for Sleipner Area in North Sea

processed data from the multi-client Sleipner Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) project. The Sleipner OBN survey, the second of two dense multi-client OBN surveys acquired in the North Sea in 2023, covers 1,201 square kilometers in a mature region of the North Sea that includes the Sleipner East, Sleipner West, Gina Krog, Volve and Utgard fields, along with surrounding near-field exploration acreage – offering potential tiebacks to existing infrastructure.Conducted between June and September 2023, the survey employed up to three node-handling vessels, three triple-source vessels and additional support vessels

over 5.5 million shots.Covering an area of 2077 square kilometers in a mature part of the North Sea, the survey was acquired in 2018 and 2019, and the initial processing results delivered in 2020.The Utsira area holds several significant oil and gas fields, including Edvard Grieg, Ivar Aasen, Balder, Gina Krog, Gudrun and Johan Sverdrup, along with a number of undeveloped discoveries and prospects. The reprocessing project has received significant industry support and leverages strong demand for high-definition seismic imaging in this highly prospective area.Viridien reprocessed the resulting data set

Equinor Sanctions Sleipner Field Electrification

the Sleipner field in the North Sea, offshore Norway.Equinor, with its partners  Vår Energi, LOTOS and KUFPEC on Tuesday filed a revised plan for development and operation to the authorities. The solution for the Sleipner field center will entail laying a new power cable from Sleipner to the Gina Krog platform, which will be tied into the area solution for power from shore on the Utsira High. During periods when the power need is greater than the capacity in the area solution, Sleipner will use gas turbines, like they do today, to cover the power need.Anders Opedal, Equinor’s Executive

Stinger Subsea Drones to Inspect Equinor's Offshore Platforms

will have further five one-year options to extend the agreement.Stinger will utilize ARROV underwater drones and tools tailored for the harsh conditions of the Norwegian Continental Shelf.Under the contract, Stinger will provide subsea inspection services at Sleipner, Statfjord, Gudrun, Draupner, Gina Krog, and Johan Sverdrup offshore facilities. "Other installations may be added to the list at a later stage," Stinger said. The company did not provide the financial details of the deal.“We are very pleased to have received this contract during these challenging times for the entire

Subsea 7 Wins Johan Sverdrup 2 Contract

was approved by Norwegian authorities in May 2019, and includes development of another processing platform for the field center and the Avaldsnes, Kvitsøy and Geitungen satellite areas, in addition to the power-from-shore supply to the Utsira High (including the Edvard Grieg, Ivar Aasen and Gina Krog fields). Start-up of phase 2 is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.“Subsea 7 is awarded the last major subsea contract for Johan Sverdrup phase 2. Based on good experiences and learning from phase one, the award will ensure continuity and a coherent development of the entire Johan Sverdrup

NKT to Supply Shore Power Cables for Equinor

NKT has been awarded the turnkey project from Equinor for the 132 kV high-voltage cable connecting the oil and gas platforms Johan Sverdrup 2 and Gina Krog.Equinor has selected NKT as the turnkey supplier for the high-voltage cable project connecting the Norwegian offshore platforms in the North Sea. The order has a value of approximately €29 million in market prices (approximately €25 million in std. metal prices) and comprises supply and installation of 62 kilometers of a 132 kV AC XLPE high-voltage power cable solution.Connecting the platforms allows Equinor to power Gina Krog from shore

Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 Plan Approved

to start in November this year, Equinor said. The Johan Sverdrup field is powered from shore, placing it among the oil and gas fields with the lowest CO2 emissions in the world. In the second phase the field will also supply shore power to other fields on the Utsira High, including the Edvard Grieg, Gina Krog and Ivar Aasen fields.Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 (Image: Equinor
