The Liebherr Manipulator 100 with hook mode.

Liebherr: New Manipulator for Offshore Cranes

The Liebherr offshore crane division has produced and delivered a new manipulator tool with a safety working load of 100 tonnes. Using this equipment is designed to extend the task range of the Liebherr offshore cranes. Liebherr designed a manipulator for its ram luffing knuckle boom crane series to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation. The Manipulator 100 is able to be used with either hook or crossbar function. The crossbar mode matches any operation – especially to those under bad weather conditions or to emergency operations. It can be used for swing-free liftings of bigger

Liebherr Reports Record Year for Offshore Cranes

With 87 units delivered in 2014, Liebherr offshore cranes achieved a new per year delivery record, more than doubling its delivery numbers from 2012. And according to Liebherr, well filled order books allow for an optimistic 2015 forecast despite a generally unstable world economic development.   “Our distinctly increasing turnover figures wouldn’t be possible without our new production site in Rostock, Germany, as well as our worldwide sales and service network. We are all working together as a team, always close to the customer to meet new needs before they arise. Our success

Subsea Crane Takes a Long Journey

Last September the test bed in Rostock was the stage of a single lift of the RL-K 7500 subsea crane. The same crane was then loaded and shipped to the South Korean customer. On December 21, a new Liebherr RL-K 7500 started its long journey to South Korea. after waiting since the middle of September for its shipment at the pier of the Liebherr factory in Rostock. Mid-December, the transport ship arrived at the Liebherr factory, and the RL-K 7500 was loaded aboard together with another model of Liebherr’s range of knuckle boom cranes, the RL-K 4200. Both cranes are currently on the way to

Single Lift of RL-K 7500 Subsea Crane

On the premises of Liebherr in Rostock a remarkable single lift of the new RL-K 7500 subsea crane recently took place in the course of its loading for shipment to Asia. The lift was executed by four Liebherr cranes.   In the beginning of September, two LHM 600 mobile harbor cranes and two LG 1750 lattice boom mobile cranes lifted the subsea crane onto a transportation device. Since it was the first time that four cranes were involved in a single lift at the test stand in Rostock a lot of planning and preparation work was required. Only the assembly of the mobile cranes took approximately two

Intelligent grabbing technology SmartGrip by Liebherr

For the mobile harbour crane range Liebherr has developed an intelligent system which optimises grab filling rates in a self-learning manner. In a comprehensive study, Liebherr collected real bulk handling data of different crane models. Complex data analyses showed that – on average – only 70% of the grab capacity is used, mainly due to suboptimal grabbing angles and a varying material density. Based on these findings, SmartGrip ensures that the full capacity of the grab is utilised. By recognizing bulk density, compression and granularity as well as current frame conditions

RL-K 7500 Subsea Crane

During customer days at the production plant in Rostock in January 2013 Liebherr presented its new subsea crane, type RL-K 7500. With this new knuckle boom crane the company extends its range of offshore cranes for subsea operations.  The RL-K 7500 is able to lift up to 260t in the air and handle loads down to a water depth of 3,400m. The maximum rope diameter is 100mm, the maximum overturning moment of the crane is 75,000kNm. Depending on customers’ specifications, the boom configuration allows for working radii of up to 50 m. One advantage of the crane’s knuckle boom is that loads

Jaya Pride

Jaya Delivers with Pride

;Jaya Pride is another big step forward for our yard in Batam. It shows our ability to produce more and more complex vessels in our expanding facility. Jaya Pride is fully compliant with SPS Code 2008 and features one of the largest lattice boom cranes we have installed on a self-propelled vessel, a Liebherr model with 40 tons lifting capacity at 40 meters reach, or 50 tons at 20 meters, and man riding rating for personnel transfer.” George Horsington, President - Business Development, said: “Upon delivery, the vessel will start a term charter with Belait Offshore in the South China Sea

Overload test for Liebherr Heavy Lift Crane

Currently the support vessel Caballo Marango is being equipped with a Liebherr heavy lift crane, type BOS 35000, in the port of Rostock. The overload test has now been carried out and the offshore crane successfully lifted 1,100 t which is 110%  of its maximum lifting capacity. The crane, offering a maximum boom length of 102 m, was built at the Liebherr plant in Rostock within the last eight months. Forming part of the Caballo Marango’s equipment it is intended to execute future assembly and reconstruction work on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico for the Mexican service company Oceanografia
