Forum Bags Mojave ROV Deal

Oilfield products company Forum Energy Technologies said it has sealed a contract to supply a Mojave remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for the Norwegian firm ESEA Marine.Sub-Atlantic Mojave will also be used by ESEA Submarine’s sister company, ESEA Marine AS, which has customers that include fish farms, port authorities and insurance companies, said the international oilfield products company, serving the subsea, drilling, completion and  production sectors of the oil and natural gas industry.In addition, the Mojave will play a training role in helping ROV pilots to develop their skills.

Rovco Completes Amazon Reef Survey for Greenpeace

U.K. subsea services company Rovco said it has completed an underwater survey of the Amazon Reef, off the northern coast of Brazil, for environmental organization Greenpeace.The Bristol-based firm carried out a full 3D seabed survey, deploying its SubAtlantic Mojave and Seaeye Cougar remotely operated vehicles (ROV) while using its latest 3D reconstruction technology. The project also required Rovco to mobilize a survey grade, fully redundant Ultra-Short Base Line (USBL) system for accurate subsea positioning.Findings revealed the existence of coral reef near the mouth of the Amazon, which extends

ROV Sales for Forum Subsea Announced

its work in the oil and gas and renewables sectors.   The first sale is to an academic research facility in Russia. Awarded through Forum’s local distributor in the region - DiveTechnoService LLC  - the St Petersburg-based academic institution has selected one of the company’s Mojave ROVs to support its oceanography research work. It is one of the subsea industry’s most powerful observation vehicles of its size, and its compact design and lightweight construction allow for rapid set up and deployment suited to the subsea environment.   The other new contracts are

Rovco Trials 3D Visualization Tech

;   The project, won through a competitive tender, was completed in 10 days over short weather windows to avoid strong winds and rough sea conditions. The first phase utilized the MTS Xplorer vessel to carry out the MBES survey. The second stage saw the deployment of Rovco’s Sub-Atlantic Mojave ROV equipped with the latest Sonardyne Nano beacons, its own prototype hi-res camera system, and a fiber optic gyro to gather accurate heading and point references.   The final stage involved the Severn Sea vessel, which was used to complete the ROV visual and 3D survey. Rovco Wins Gwynt y Môr Windfarm Contract

installations.   The contract with wind farm operator innogy was won in a competitive tender. It will see the Bristol-based ROV firm provide inspection services to the 576MW windfarm’s offshore assets as part of its ongoing maintenance plan.    Rovco will deploy its Sub-Atlantic Mojave ROV from its fleet, kitted out with 3D inspection equipment as part of the bespoke inspection program. These observation class ROVs are best suited to the issues associated with the strong currents found in the Liverpool Bay area.
