Tritech Deploys Shark Detection Sonar

Tritech International Ltd, [Tritech], a Moog Inc. Company, has successfully deployed its first full-beach shark detection system in collaboration with Shark Mitigation Systems Ltd (SMS). The Clever Buoy system is currently active at City Beach in Perth, Australia.   Each Clever Buoy is solar powered and utilizes a PC running the jointly developed SharkTec software, with three sonars creating a continuous area of coverage. Focal Technologies Supplies Slip Ring for Tidal Turbine

Focal Technologies, a Moog Inc. company, said it has been contracted to supply Scotrenewables Tidal Power Ltd. with a 6.6 kV electrical slip ring for the company’s new tidal turbine.   Scotrenewables recently launched the 550-metric-ton, 2 MW SR2000, which underwent preliminary tow trials in Belfast Lough, Ireland, before being towed to Orkney, Scotland, to commence a grid connected test program.
