was leaking small amounts of oil, the Coast Guard discovered.A unified command consisting of the Coast Guard and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation oversaw the response supported by more than 100 government, industry and environmental specialists. As much as 99 percent of the recoverable oil was removed and secured for disposal by Resolve Marine. “The amount remaining in the vessel is very small and any sheening poses minimal risk to the local environment and no risk to the shoreline.” said Steve Lehmann, senior scientific coordinator at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric

arranged for use of the U.S. Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll's harbor tug Mystic to collect the anchors at the pier and drop them in place this allowed the ship to successful finalize their four-point moor over ex-Prinz Eugen. Each oil-filled, accessible tank was hot tapped, pumped free of recoverable oil, and sealed with a permanent, tamper-proof dome assembly to prevent any subsequent leakage of residual oil clingage left in the tank. These actions ensured that the wreck, a popular dive site, is safe for continued recreational diving and the Atoll is safe from the risk of significant oil spill

New Oil Discovered in the North Sea

Equinor and partners Lundin and Spirit Energy have struck oil in the PL 167 licence at the Utsira High in the North Sea.The discovery is currently estimated to contain 15-35 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent.“We are very pleased to announce the first Equinor discovery,” said Nicholas Ashton, Equinor’s senior vice president, Exploration, Norway & UK.“This is a good discovery which we expect will be commercial. In addition, the results from the drilling indicate an upside potential in this discovery,” Ashton pointed out.The Lille Prinsen well is located 200

different ways together. “The revitalization of the Yme field, with Repsol bringing forward a revised plan for development and operation, is a prime example of how Proserv’s approach can add value by improving existing equipment reliability and maximizing field life.” The recoverable oil reserves for the field are estimated at approximately 65 million barrels at 10 year’s total production with first oil planned for the first half of 2020. This latest award builds on the success of the subsea controls brownfield upgrade project completed by Proserv for Statoil&rsquo

than previously thought. The Pikka and Horseshoe oil discoveries near the Colville River delta just outside NPR-A were announced in 2015 and 2017. Industry announcements suggest that the two discoveries 21 miles apart likely are in the same oil pool, which may hold more than 1 billion barrels of recoverable oil.   “Advances in technology and our understanding of petroleum geology are constantly moving forward,” said Walter Guidroz, program coordinator of the USGS Energy Resources Program. “That’s why the USGS reevaluates and updates our assessments, to give decision-makers

ExxonMobil Announces Oil Discovery Offshore Guyana

Corporation announced its sixth oil discovery offshore Guyana since 2015, following positive results from its Ranger-1 exploration well.   The Ranger-1 well discovery adds to previous discoveries at Liza, Payara, Snoek, Liza Deep and Turbot, which are estimated to total more than 3.2 billion recoverable oil-equivalent barrels.   ExxonMobil affiliate Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd. began drilling the Ranger-1 well on November 5, 2017 and encountered approximately 70 meters of high-quality, oil-bearing carbonate reservoir. The well was safely drilled to 6,450 meters depth in 2

Statoil Completes Two-well Exploration Drilling Campaign Off Newfoundland

;We will now take the time needed to evaluate the results before firming up any plans for additional drilling near-field to Bay du Nord.” The volume estimates for Bay du Nord, including the Bay de Verde and Baccalieu discoveries announced in 2016, remain an estimated 300 million barrels of recoverable oil, as previously announced after Statoil’s 2014-16 drilling campaign.   Statoil continues to evaluate future drilling activities in other areas where the company holds acreage in the frontier Flemish Pass Basin.
