Shearwater and Mondaic Enter Strategic Alliance to Optimize Seismic Surveys

of the agreement, Shearwater has acquired exclusive and perpetual rights for the use and further development for subsurface applications of Mondaic’s wavefield simulation and inversion codes.Furthermore, Shearwater has acquired an equity stake in Mondaic. Full waveform inversion is a key seismic data processing technology that improves visualization of subsurface structures, enhances reservoir understanding and helps planning and execution of more efficient surveys.“This is an important partnership, embodying Shearwater’s dedication to creating and implementing cutting-edge technology

Sabah Basin Multi-Client Seismic Project Secures Prefunding

announced that prefunding has been secured to expand multi-client seismic data coverage in the Sabah Basin offshore Malaysia. The seventh phase of this multi-year project off the coast of Sabah encompasses over 5,000 kilometers of new 2D seismic data acquisition, over 2,600 kilometers of legacy seismic data processing, and 2,800 square kilometers of 2D-cubed processing as part of a multi-year contract originally awarded by PETRONAS in 2016.“High-quality 2D seismic data across Sabah will be instrumental in promoting future bid rounds. It also allows E&P companies to further assess exploration

Offshore Oil & Gas: Brazil’s Northern Frontier

. She is one of the most powerful and high-capacity vessels of her class in the world, and has a crew of 70. The high-end BroadSeis data set will be processed in CGG’s state-of-the-art subsurface imaging center in downtown Rio de Janeiro using CGG’s proprietary geovation software for seismic data processing, imaging and reservoir characterization, including a new generation of massive high-density wide-azimuth datasets, true 3D wide-azimuth algorithms and anisotropic depth imaging along with the latest compute-intensive imaging algorithms. “There is an unsurprising high level of industry

Polarcus Innovation in Seismic Vessel Design

buoy workshop, Two battery stores and a Streamer store repair room. There are a number of winch systems fitted with radio remote control. Under an agreement with GX Technology, this global independent data processing company provides the on-board seismic data quality control and when required seismic data processing services on-board Polarcus' vessels, and onshore advanced seismic data processing services at one of its Data Processing Centres. Accommodation and interior spaces Polarcus Adira is built with a hotel compliment with permanent capacity for 60 persons in 32 single and 14 double cabins

DNV Introduce Seismic Vessel Notation

of these new technical requirements. Seismic vessels contain high end computerized technology to find resources below the seabed, and represent a key element in the value chain leading to future offshore field developments. Any interruptions in the ships forward movement can complicate the seismic data processing, and continuous operations with focus to avoid any downtime of key functions are hence of utmost importance. With expensive seismic streamer equipment mobilized at sea, sudden loss of service speed may lead to severe consequences as damage to cables impairing the whole seismic vessel
