Ocean Installer Gets Two SURF Contracts From Statoil

 Norway's Ocean Installer has secured two subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) contracts with Statoil for work on several fields offshore Norway.   The subsea company has secured two contracts, comprising work from 2018 through 2020 on the Snorre, Troll, Njord, Åsgard, Bauge, Fenja and Dvalin fields, said a press statement.   The first contract is for Subsea Lines Modification (SLM) work, with offshore activities containing complex riser change-out operations, set to commence in Q2 of 2018.   "We continue to build on the excellent working relationship we

Rovco Wins Gwynt y Môr Windfarm Contract

Rovco has been awarded a three-year contract to support one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms, Gwynt y Môr, eight miles off the coast of North Wales in the U.K.    The U.K. subsea company said it will provide its underwater ROV 3D visual survey solution, alongside traditional video, blueview sonar and cathodic protection analysis techniques.   Gwynt y Môr consists of 160 turbines that generate enough energy for more than 400,000 homes across the country. Rovco Joins NVIDIA Inception Program

UK-based subsea company Rovco has announced plans to take artificial intelligence (AI) to new depths after being selected to join the NVIDIA Inception Program. Designed to nurture start-ups that are revolutionizing industries with advances in AI and data science, the virtual incubator program supports members overcome critical stages of product development, prototyping, and deployment. Being selected by NVIDIA will see Rovco benefit from hardware grants, marketing support and training to aid the development of the firm’s range of underwater robotics and subsea inspection techniques.

Wallace Joins Rovco as CTO

U.K.-based subsea company Rovco has appointed Dr. Iain Wallace o its senior management team as chief technology officer (CTO).   A former technical lead for the European Space Agency, Wallace will drive the development of a real-time 3D vision system for ROVs and AUVs.
