Well Drilling at Fogelberg Gas Discovery to Start in Feb/March

Centrica said drilling will start on an appraisal well at its Fogelberg natural gas discovery in the Norwegian sea in February/March to gain a better understanding of volumes and reservoir quality.

Norwegian company Island Drilling has won the drilling contract, Centrica said in a statement on Friday.

The agreement also includes an option for two additional wells.

The Fogelberg discovery was made in 2010 and is estimated to hold around 60 million barrels of oil equivalent. Production is scheduled to start in 2021.

Centrica Norway is the operator for the Fogelberg licence with an ownership share of 50 percent. Faroe Petroleum and DEA Norge each have a 25 percent share.
