MTCS Ltd., a provider of ROV training and competence assurance services to the international offshore industry, announced its first U.S. induction course running in Houston from December 1-10, 2014.

MTCS, which already runs induction courses in the U.K., Singapore and Egypt, is a fully accredited training center with courses that meet the industry requirements as laid down by the trade association IMCA.

In addition to training personnel on behalf of the operating companies, MTCS also provides introductory training to personnel wishing to gain employment in the industry. Working closely with the operating companies therefore allows the company to introduce successful candidates to the industry on completion of the course.

MTCS said it includes a blended learning program that begins with a 10-day induction course focusing on technical and operational concepts within the ROV industry.

Upon successful completion of this course, the candidate will also be registered in to the Certificate of Competence Scheme. At this stage guidance on job applications will be given. As part of the course, a hydraulics training booklet in electronic format will also be issued this will support the blended learning program. This program also includes assessment and feedback on performance offshore and should typically take 12-18 months to achieve PTI status.

Potential candidates must have a comprehensive technical background in either electrical, electronic systems or mechanical, hydraulic systems, experience must focus on maintenance and first line fault finding.
