BV Opens doors to Their Testing Labs in Germany

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (CPS) have successfully opened the doors to their testing laboratories in Hamburg and Schwerin on the 9th and 10th July. The event, which was themed around new chemical requirements for consumer products, attracted over 100 clients coming not only from Germany, but also from France, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Austria and the United Kingdom.

The event was the opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Schwerin laboratory, one of the most modern laboratories within the Bureau Veritas network. At this location, around 150 employees are specialised in chemical testing of virtually all types of consumer products. Many testing methods that have been developed in Schwerin are now used globally, and several have been defined as national and international standards.

Attendees had the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art premises, meet Bureau Veritas CPS technical experts and listen to a series of seminars on current topics such as the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) initiative or the latest developments in food contact and cosmetics regulations.

The Hamburg laboratory also had something to celebrate with the recent opening of its new centre of competence for hardlines. Visitors saw the premises which offer a wide range of testing including food contact, Fitness For Use (FFU), REACH and Rohs to only name a few.
