Bullmore, Duncan Join ROMAR Staff

ROMAR International, an Aberdeen based provider of magnetic separation products and oilfield services, said it has boosted its team with two key appointments. Mark Bullmore and Zander Duncan join the team as Operations Manager and Workshop Supervisor respectively.

Mark takes up the role following a career spanning 23 years as Chief Technician in the Royal Air Force where he was tasked with supervising the maintenance and rectification of the daily flying program. This involved liaison with all trades to ensure timely completion of tasks, as well as overseeing 32 technicians. 

In his secondary role as mobility officer he was responsible for the logistical planning for large projects; organizing up to 110 staff and 12 aircraft movements to ensure operations commenced immediately on arrival, anywhere in the world.

Mark was the Maintenance Manager for Halliburton where he looked after the PPS fleet of equipment for the UKCS and Europe.  He has also held many other management appointments giving him a rounded and varied experience that he brings to ROMAR.

Zander joins ROMAR following five years as an engineer at Aquatic Engineering, where he worked on overseas contracts in a number of locations globally. Prior to this he spent over ten years on various vessels in the North Seaw here he held skipper, relief skipper and chief engineer positions.

He has also worked at various companies in the oil and gas sector, as well as the Peterhead power station, which has given him a good working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and diesel driven units and machinery.

As an addition to his professional career, Zander is and has been involved with Peterhead Boys Club for 18 years. He is currently the manager of the under 17s team and has previous involvement with coaching for the under 21s and also the junior teams.

Since 2000 the ROMAR has grown in size and currently has a headcount of 41 and plans to increase this by a further six this year to cover the international market.
