Shipbuilding: New Diving Bell Ship for WSA

WSA Koblenz (WasserSchiffahrtsAmbt) awarded Damen Shipyards Group a contract to build a new diving bell ship, a vessel which will succeed an existing vessel – the Carl Straat, which has been in operation since 1963. Fisheries Research Vessel Ordered for Germany

The German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung, BLE) has signed a contract with Damen Shipyards Group for the construction of a new fisheries research vessel following a European tendering process, realized by the Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute (Bundesanstalt für Wasserbau, BAW).   With the vessel, to be called the Walther Herwig, the German Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) will support Germany’s fisheries and oceanographic research programs.   Measuring 85 x 17,40 meters

Damen CSD350 dredger for 200 km Internal Waterway

Nicaraguan Tourist Agency selects Damen CSD350 dredger for 200 km internal waterway project. A contract has been signed by EPN, the Nicaraguan Port Authority, and INTUR, the Nicaraguan Tourist Agency, with the Damen Shipyards Group for the delivery of a CSD350 Cutter Suction Dredger. The dredger is to be operated by EPN on a project to create and maintain a 200 km inland channel running along a section of Nicaragua’s Caribbean coast. This is the first Damen CSD to be purchased by INTUR, and is designed for heavy-duty operations with a production capacity of 2000 mᶟ/h to a depth of nine metres.

Damen TSHD 650 for Gippsland Ports

Damen Shipyards Group is constructing a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) 650 for Australian client Gippsland Ports.   The TSHD will be the first Damen dredger to operate in the country. The client will use the dredger to maintain entry to the port of Lakes Entrance and the Gippsland Lakes system, in Victoria, which is used by recreational, fishing and supply vessels. Currently, the client contracts a dredger annually to carry out the necessary dredging to maintain port access. However, after analysing the situation it became clear that there was a case for investing in their own vessel.

Damen Ice class Dredger for Rosmorport

This month Damen Shipyards Group launched ice class Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers TSHD 2000 for Russian Port Agency FSUE “Rosmorport”.   Song Thu Corporation shipyard in Da Nang, Vietnam is building the Damen TSHD 2000 under Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS).
