MENCK Delivers 'World's Largest' Hammers for Offshore Wind Installation in Taiwan

Dutch offshore installation company Heerema Marine Contractors has signed a contract with Acteon's offshore pile-driving operating subsidiary MENCK for the provision of two of the world’s largest hammers to support offshore wind installation activities in Taiwan.The contract includes the delivery and operation of the MENCK MHU 4400S hydraulic hammers and the newly developed MENCK underwater Noise Reduction Unit, MNRU, and a live penetration depths measurement system.Menck manufactured and assembled the essential hydraulic drive unit and the external shock absorber ring at its headquarters in

DNV GL Gives Nod for Heerema's Silent Offshore Installation Concepts

Heerema Marine Contractors' concepts for the silent installation of offshore facilities' foundations have received a Statement of Feasibility from the global quality assurance firm DNV GL.Heerema has been working on developing 'silent foundations' - pile foundations for offshore structures that can be installed without loud hammering. Heerema Fabrication Group's Piling Template for Taiwan Offshore Wind Project

Dutch company Heerema Fabrication Group has won a contract to build pre-piling templates for the Greater Changhua offshore wind developments in Taiwan.A pre-piling template will be delivered to the company's compatriot Heerema Marine Contractors to assist with the installation of the offshore wind turbine piles accurately. The template will consist of 3 pile sleeves connected by framing including hydraulically adjustable pile guides and mud mats. Heerema Wins Hollandse Kust Zuid Alpha Project

Heerema Marine Contractors said it has been awarded the Petrofac contract for TenneT's Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) Alpha project, one of the largest offshore wind farm zones being developed in the North Sea off the Dutch coast.The award entails the transport and installation of the HKZ Alpha HVAC platform. Huldra Platform Recycling Contract Awarded

for plugging the six wells at Huldra during 2016.   On behalf of the partners Statoil has now awarded two new contracts for removal, transportation, disposal and recycling of the Huldra platform.   The Engineering, Preparation and Removal (EPR) contract has been awarded to Heerema Marine Contractors Nederland SE.   The contract for disposal and recycling of the platform has been awarded to AF Offshore Decom AS, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen ASA   The total weight of the platform is approximately 10,000 tons, distributed over a 5,000 ton topside and a 5,000 ton steel jacket
