NOV Awards Contract to Pulse for Mooring Line Monitoring

Pulse Structural Monitoring, an Acteon company, has been awarded a contract with National Oilwell Varco (NOV) Arendal in Norway to provide an acoustic mooring line subsea monitoring system to measure mooring line inclination and tension.   The contract is for 12 mooring line subsea monitoring sensors and ancillary topside equipment, which have been enhanced to meet specific client requirements. The equipment will be installed in the North Sea.   The Pulse system consists of 12 ROV deployable INTEGRIpod acoustic data loggers on the mooring line’s upper section to measure actual

Pulse Wins Platform Monitoring Contract in Norway

Pulse Structural Monitoring, an Acteon company, has been awarded a contract with Total E&P Norge AS to provide a real time integrity monitoring system, to measure platform displacement during drilling operations.  The two-year contract, with a two-year extension option, will support Total’s development drilling activities on the Martin Linge field in the Norwegian North Sea. Drilling will be conducted with the ultra-harsh-environment jackup rig, the Maersk Intrepid. The Pulse system consists of INTEGRIpod motion data loggers on the jackup cantilever and the jacket to measure the

Pulse Takes the Fatigue Pulse of North Sea Drill Rig

Pulse Structural Monitoring (Pulse), an Acteon company, says it has provided a real-time wellhead fatigue monitoring system for drilling and well testing operations on the 'Lancaster Discovery', west of Shetland in the UK North Sea. The well operator, Hurricane Energy plc, wanted to check the wellhead fatigue model during drilling operations to prevent significant damage. Real-time monitoring of the motion of the lower marine riser package (LMRP) provided early warning of excessive LMRP movement and instant visualisation of any wellhead fatigue damage from the rig. The well was drilled horizontall
