Baker Hughes Finds US Drillers Add Most O&G Rigs Since April

highest since April 2020, said Baker Hughes in its weekly report.  The total count was up 228, or 61%, over this time last year.U.S. oil rigs rose 11 to 492 this week, their highest since April 2020, while gas rigs rose two to 109, their highest since March 2020. Specifically, the Eagle Ford in South Texas gained six rigs this week, the most of any basin, bringing its total to 50, its highest since April 2020. The Haynesville shale in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas gained three to 52, its highest since November 2019.U.S. crude futures were trading around $84 per barrel on Friday, putting the contract

Aqueos Supports South Texas-Tuxpan Gas Pipeline

Aqueos Corporation said it has completed a major diving scope for the installation and commissioning of the South Texas-Tuxpan Gas Pipeline. The South Texas-Tuxpan Gas Pipeline is being constructed by a joint venture between TransCanada (60%) and Sempra Energy’s Mexican unit IEnova (40%), also known as Infraestructura Marina del Golfo (IMG). The $3.1 billion project is being sponsored by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) of Mexico.Carrying U.S. natural gas to Mexico from west Texas, this 42-in. pipeline is ~800km in length and runs offshore from Brownsville, Texas to a shore-end

requiring 30 percentless force. It also delivers improved control compared with conventional PDC cutters when drilling directionally. The AxeBlade bit has been successfully field tested in a variety of applications, drilling more than a cumulative total of 200,000 ft [60,960 m]. In a field trial in South Texas, the AxeBlade bit kicked off from vertical to a 90° angle and continued drilling the lateral section for a total of 3,586 ft [1,093 m] with 29 percent faster ROP compared to offset wells

underwent extensive material science and laboratory validation and has been field tested in multiple unconventional reservoirs across the United States. Numerous wells were stimulated across five of the major plays in North America without any type of mechanical intervention required. A customer in South Texas deployed the Infinity system in a seven-well project that began with partial wellbores and, after the early successes, moved on to full wellbore completions. The system was deployed under extreme conditions, with temperatures up to 320 degF in laterals up to 8,000 ft. In these wells, more than

Braemar Named Engineers for Brownsville LNG Project

arm of the Braemar Shipping Services PLC group, has been appointed as Owner’s Engineers by Texas LNG Brownsville LLC (Texas LNG) for the proposed Brownsville LNG project.   The project will be constructed in a deepwater frontage site along the Port of Brownsville shipping channel, South Texas, and is anticipated to export more than 2 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG, with the first shipments planned for export in 2019. Texas LNG is currently working with its strategic and engineering partner, Samsung Engineering, progressing the FEED (Front End Engineering Design) phase

section through a formation known to cause premature impact damage to conventional PDC bits. The drill bit exceeded the planned footage interval, increasing interval length by 97% and ROP by 57%, saving the customer more than five days of drilling time. In an onshore field trial conducted in South Texas, two curves were drilled to compare the steerability of a StingBlade bit to a conventional PDC bit. Under identical conditions, the StingBlade bit achieved 23% higher build rates with less torque and toolface angle variation, reducing corrections required by directional drillers enabling them

Dead Sharks Found in Illegal Gill Net

U.S. Coast Guard crews in South Texas located and recovered a gill net near the Mexico-U.S. maritime border with 65 deceased sharks. At approximately 2 p.m. on Monday during a routine patrol, an aircrew aboard an HU-25 Falcon airplane spotted floating fishing gear approximately 20 miles off South Padre Island and 37 miles north of the U.S./Mexico maritime border. Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi immediately diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Amberjack, an 87-foot coastal patrol boat. The cutter’s crew retrieved 1 mile of abandoned gill net with 65 sharks caught. All of the sharks were badly

Texas LNG Makes Strides on US LNG Export Project

to the United States Department of Energy (DOE) seeking authorization to export up to 2 MTA (million tonnes per annum) of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to FTA (Free Trade Agreement) and non-FTA markets following the execution of its exclusive lease option agreement with the Port of Brownsville in South Texas, USA. The company explains it will employ a toll processing business model whereby the LNG customer will pay Texas LNG a fee for converting natural gas into LNG at the 51 acre site located along the Port of Brownsville's deepwater channel which provides an optimal location to develop an LNG export
