CS Unitec Introduces Portable Hydraulic Magnetic Drill

has introduced a new portable hydraulic magnetic drill ideal for use in subsea applications and Ex Zones. With its 3.4 HP reversible motor, Model 2 1345 0010 produces an infinitely variable speed of 40-250 RPM. This machine has a 12” stroke and can drill holes up to 4” diameter in structural steel and other metals. The drill has a Morse Taper 3 (MT3) chuck, allowing twist drilling up to 1-1/4” dia., tapping up to 1” dia., countersinking up to 2” dia. and reaming up to 1-1/8” dia.  Model 2 1345 0010 is ATEX Classified Ex II 2Gc IIB T5 for use in hazardous atmosphere

Sherwin-Williams Debuts Versatile Polysiloxane Coating

service conditions, Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings has released Sher-Loxane 800, a versatile, high-performance polysiloxane coating that offers enhanced durability and aesthetics, as well as cost savings. Sher-Loxane 800 provides a high-gloss finish to bridges, water tanks, structural steel, and many other steel surfaces in just two coats, reducing total operational costs for a better bottom line. The glossy, smooth finish of Sher-Loxane 800 offers exceptional long-term color and gloss retention, as well as excellent corrosion and chemical resistance that rivals that of conventional

Fire Shelters Enhance Safety for Offshore Gas Project

curve that is used in the ANSI/UL 1709 standard, but with a much more stringent requirement that the internal temperature must not exceed 60 degrees C. This design criterion affords considerably greater protection against severe fires than the 1709 standard, which only covers the protection of structural steel and has a permissible temperature of 550 degrees C for the specified protection time. The fire shelters that Intertec is supplying for this Middle East offshore gas project are designed to withstand fire for 120 minutes, to afford maximum protection to the control electronics of a platform's

Almarin Supplies Beacons for Panamá Maritime Authority

. Due to the size of the product and the difficult access to the outer moles, the towers were manufactured in modules of 600kg for easy transport and installation. Designed according to Eurocode 1 and 3 and to meet IALA recommendations, the towers were manufactured from hot dip galvanized S275JR structural steel. An internal ladder with lifeline provides access to the upper 2x2m rectangular platform, equipped with GRP grating floor, where all the equipment is installed. almarin.e

Flexlife Completes Field Trial for Chevron

40 meters below the water line during the initial phase of the project in June 2012. “Data produced showed that the annulus was not flooded where the FlexGuard module was installed and therefore had not been exposed to oxygenated seawater which could cause corrosion of the riser’s structural steel wires. The trial delivered proof of concept of the product as an early detection system for potential riser integrity issues.  FlexGuard is now at a market ready stage and suitable for commercial deployment.” FlexGuard incorporates Flexlife’s patented non-invasive, award winning
