MTCS UK Set to Impress China's COOEC

During the recent state visit to Britain by China's President, Xi Jinping, U.K. based, MTCS (UK) Ltd (Maritime Training and Competence Solutions), were on location in Shenzen, delivering High Voltage training to COOEC personnel, China’s offshore engineering construction company.

 
U.K. Ministers were expecting more than £30 billion of trade and investment deals to be struck during the President's visit, with the Treasury hoping that within 10 years China will be Britain's second biggest trading partner.
 
With this in mind, Richard Warburton, Managing Director, MTCS (UK) Ltd said, “We are delighted to be working with COOEC personnel to ensure they are certified in High Voltage safety to meet the requirements of the global market. The intensive training and assessment program took place in Shenzen, China, in the workshop facilities of COOEC using an SMD Quantum work class ROV system. The candidates completed an assessment of knowledge and practical skills, which required them to demonstrate a full Electrical Isolation on the ROV system in accordance with industry guidelines.
 
“Delivering remotely operated vehicle (ROV) training courses in China is an exciting new market for us, although we have been training in South East Asia for a few years now. We look forward to a continued excellent working relationship with COOEC.”
 
MTCS (UK) provides high voltage training and assessment for ROV personnel and are a fully accredited assessment and training center providing a spectrum of operational, technical and supervisory training to the global offshore industry. The majority of their courses focus on ROVs as used in the oil and gas, nuclear and renewables industry.
 
Xiao Gang, ROV Department Training Manager, COOEC Subsea Technology, China’s offshore engineering construction company, said: “We were very impressed with the MTCS (UK) Ltd High Voltage training course, as it was run in a very professional manner and our personnel found Warburton to have the right balance of being both friendly and delivering his training in a helpful and accessible way. COOEC boasts world-class competencies and international operation procedures and management standards. Designs implemented by COOEC are advanced worldwide. Large-scale offshore engineering manufacturing bases with total area of 3.5 million square meters have been completed in Tanggu of Tianjin Municipality, Qingdao of Shandong Province and Zhuhai of Guangdong Province, realizing the base layout across the country for functional complementation to cover shallow and deepwater engineering and develop the global market.
 
MTCS (UK) also deliver HV theory by distance learning along with a portfolio of other distance learning courses, the latest of which is fiber optic training for ROV operators.
